Staying in Cody, WY

We needed a place to stay after driving over 6 hours. We found the Ponderosa and it was a pleasant surprise with full hookups. The check in folks were very nice. Our location site #84 backs up to a canyon with a private view of the mountains. The sites are close together, but trees help. Clean…

Close to town and the museum, which is why we stayed here. Sites are close together but we didn't care we were just staying one night. Easy in and out and there are eateries within walking distance.

Epic Sunset Over the Shoshone River!

Lucked onto this site after a long day of driving from South Dakota.

I appreciated having the bear lockers and really loved an evening dip in the river to cool off and wash up!

Super quiet primitive campground

Very quiet and secluded. Lovely primitive campground right off 14. They've got 12 or so sites for tent or small trailers. We have a pick up with a 22 foot trailer and fit perfect. Surprisingly level spots as well. No hookups, potable water or dump station available. Vault toilets available and bear…

Nice park no full hook ups, and not many sites with water so plan with time.

Getting ready for Yellowstone

Nice convenient town to get things ready before hitting the Yellowstone. Walmart, Rodeo, Verizon, etc. If you tent, you will be camping on the greens in the center of the park with RVs surrounding you, but we didn't mind for one night. Not really a changing space for the shower, so either figure…

Short stay but clean park

Came in 10 minutes before the office closed (9pm) and the host was super friendly and welcoming. A full hook up pull thru was $42 after tax. The park was extremely clean. The bathrooms were open until 1am and the showers were free and very clean. There wasn’t a whole lot to see but park is…

I love this place.

This is one of the most picturesque places to camp. Surrounded by mountains and right on the Shoshone River, this is a bit of Heaven on earth.

There is only one flush toilet/(paid) shower facility in the North Fork campground (none in Lake Side), but there are accessible vault toilets within…

Free Camping

There are about 12 pull through RV spots and more curbside spots.. The dispersed tent camping sites are in the grass past the playground. Clean bathrooms and water filling Station. Picnic tables with grills, rain shelter or open air available. Well kept grounds! Great place to stop overnight.

Great stay in Cody.

Ponderosa is located in the middle of town. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The store and souvenir shop is nice as well. Many things to do around Cody within short driving and walking distance. Campground had clean showers and toilets. Perfect for stay if you’re headed to Yellowstone.

Wide open!!! Windy

Great spot to re-group... Since we could not get a spot in YS for our rig, we use BBST as a home base. We were able to leave our rig to tent camp in YS. And yes is very windy at times.... Also watch out for the bugs they can be ferocious went the wind does down.

FREE Campground

Nice little tree lined park. Clean bathrooms and showers. Great stop over. Room for some tents and pull through RV’s. Free dump station and potable water. The city asks for a donation.

Super nice

We don’t normally camp at fancy places like a koa but we were needing a spot on our way to Yellowstone. The hosts were super nice, everything was clean and there was a nice hot shower.

Below average

No cable TV. WiFi is weak. No pool. Cement floors in restrooms and laundry. No shade. Small rv pull throughs. Expensive compared to other facilities with more amenities. Our site was next to a major roadway with traffic noises all night.
