    Eagle RV Park

Convenient, shady, clean bathrooms with good showers, polite, helpful staff

We usually prefer disbursed but needed power for AC with temps in the 90s.   They have nice shady spots with picnic tables and full service (water, power, sewer).  Bathrooms are clean with adequate # toilet stalls for number of people.  The RV park was full and no issues with neighbors.  Only potential downside is it's right off the highway and a bit noisy but that's Par for the course of most RV parks in towns/cities in my experience.

    Shell Creek

    Paradise!

Beautiful little campground with 15 spots. Each have a picnic table, fire ring and a charcoal grill. Some tent only sites and a few large enough for rvs. We're in 15 with plenty of space to not have to unhook our 26 foot trailer. Water is available and clean vault toilets. Campfire wood available at host for $6. Host is awesome! We spent a decent amount talking about the area and solar power stuff. Aside from the creek its mostly dead quiet here besides a group has some dirt bikes that come and go once in a while and the occasional camper or side by side coming down the road. 10/10 would recommend. Beautiful scenery and people seem to enjoy fishing here as well. There is a couple spots to park for just fishing. There is a couple bear boxes for tents campers as well. We havnt seen bears in the immediate area but we did see a mother and baby black bear about 10 miles down the road. Beautiful dear in the area. Chipmunks and birds too. Host said there are moose and coyotes in the area but we havnt seen any yet. Definitely lots of mosquitos so bring your spray or thermacells. It's mid August and it's starting to cool down. About 75 during the day and low 50s at night. No electric or rv dump here you must go to Burgess station to dump. (No posted price/donations appreciated) no dumpsters here but a few bear resistant trash cans for small amounts of trash. The water spigots dont have threads either and not meant to fill rv tanks.

    Gebo Road - Thermopolis

    Definitely weird energy

This camp spot is beautiful but it’s extremely remote and the energy is very weird. As soon as the sun set it felt very haunted and I had a lot of trouble sleeping. I would say if you have a big group it could be cool but I do not recommend sleeping there alone especially if you are sensitive to energy/ paranormal things. The spot is not far from the reservation and there is a graveyard at the end of the road that I learned about after sleeping there. Just be aware and respectful if you do choose to sleep there.

    Castle Gardens

    Great semi-remote camping spot

Came out here for two nights to camp with our truck tent. Pretty quiet throughout the week and a few daytime hikers came in on Saturday morning. Very quiet! Gravel road leads back to the camp spot and we’re able to make it with a UHaul trailer. There are restrooms located in the middle of the camp sites. One of the nights we got caught in a light shower with lightening and thunder. So beautiful to see! Even saw lightening strike the ground.

    Fountain of Youth RV Park

    RV ok, Tent not ok

Mostly came to this place for the showers, which were clean and had hot water. The park however was frankly not the best. The spaces were close and not very clean. The dirt was so compact from RVs pulling in that we could spike our tent. The smell from the fountain of youth was frankly not great. And what they don't tell you is that the train runs about ten feet away from some of the sites. We woke up at one point with the train shaking the ground at about 3:30 in the morning. Overall, would not recommend unless you really need to shower. 🤣

    Shell Campground

Simple RV camping on the outside of Shell

We did a single overnight here with the RV. The campsite is best without kiddos because there is no playground or anything for them to do outside here. A small and simple campsite for an overnight near Bighorn National Forest.

    Eagle RV Park

    Reasonable for non-electric

With the only RV park in town, I was skeptical of a price gouging. $30 for non-electric/ no water. Amazing! One partially shaded site was available - the clerk let us pick. Fire ring available to have a fire. Woman’s Bathroom is clean & quaintly updated with fresh paint & cheery shower curtain. Laundry facilities & outdoor washing area (could be used for getting water). Grassy dog area complete with poop bags, shovel & rake.

Lower Wind River Campground — Boysen State Park

    Great fly fishing access

Wind River Canyon Campground is a beautiful spot tucked along the Wind River. There are no hookups, but water spigots are available throughout the campground to fill your tanks. As the name suggests, it can be very windy at times, so plan accordingly. Our site had nice shade and offered great views of both the canyon and the river. If you enjoy fly fishing, you’ll appreciate the easy river access right from the campground. It’s a peaceful, scenic place to stay— a great option if you don’t mind dry camping and want to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
