Rim Campground

Rim Campground, near Casper, Wyoming, is a peaceful retreat that offers a perfect escape into nature. With spacious sites that provide a sense of privacy, it’s an ideal place for those looking to pitch a tent or park an RV while soaking in the stunning views.

The campground features vault toilets that are surprisingly well-stocked with toilet paper, which is a nice touch for campers. Visitors have noted the quiet atmosphere, with very few other campers around, making it a great spot for relaxation and enjoying the surrounding trails. As one camper mentioned, “Not very trafficked during our visit,” which adds to the charm of this secluded location.

For those eager to explore, there are hiking trails right off the campground, and if you’re heading back toward Casper, don’t miss the chance to check out Garden Creek Waterfall along the way. The drive to the campground includes some rough gravel roads, but it’s manageable for most vehicles, so don’t let that deter you.

While amenities are limited—no electric hookups or drinking water—campers appreciate the simplicity and natural beauty of the area. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with beautiful scenery, Rim Campground is definitely worth considering.

Perfect little spot

Not very trafficked (2 other campers) during our visit. Most spots are big enough for 2 tents and fairly private. 2 vault toilets right next to 4 of the campgrounds. Each spot has a garbage can. Nice views and some hikes right off the campground, plus if you're heading back toward Casper you can hit Garden Creek Waterfall on your way. Very few bugs late June.

*Note if you are coming from Casper you will be on a pretty rough gravel road for like 8 miles. We made it in a Prius but had to go sub 20mph most of the time.

Beautiful campground away from it all!

Quiet, beautiful and secluded. The campground has vault toilets which actually have toilet paper! The trails surrounding the campground are relatively level. The drive to the campground has several miles of dirt road, but 4x4 is not required.
