Twin Buttes Reservoir

A nice place in the summer but brutal past October. The wind absolutely ravages this place. Your van or RV will rock. There isnt a tree in sight just open land so you feel really exposed. There is a large gravel lot and a couple picnic table and fire pit spots. You can park a big rig in here in the gravel lot. There is also a pit toilet. If you face back to town you can get okay not great verizon signal. If you gave the water the signal is very poor. Overall this is just a 1 night place.

We picked a spot here that is right off the road by the "beach". Our 33' 5th wheel fits just fine. Beautiful area near town, but lots of fishermen traffic. Great spot for fishing or bird watching. We saw a family of eagles, a golden eagle, and many shore birds and water fowl. Be careful, though. The soil is very clay - so slippery when wet.

About 25 knot winds during the day, with strong sun. Beautiful mountain and lake view. We pitched a tent at sunset when the wind died down and held it down with some rocks, was a bit buggy after that. 5 bars of T-Mobile Amazing stars. Skipped the swim due to potential algae blooms.

Good Verizon service, was able to work remote. Got pretty windy but it was nice on the hot days. Idk if I’d swim in the water. There was a pit toilet. Good view of the mountains. Agree with review below that it’s not a destination spot, but if you’re in the area I’d do a night

wouldn't recommend if you are tent camping, but i was very comfortable in my car despite very strong winds. ATT is intermittent but works nonetheless! no toilet paper in toilets so bring your own! nice quiet spot but as others have said, it's definitely not a destination spot

We arrived around sunset for a quick night on our road trip heading West. There were some bugs out but nothing crazy. Peaceful sounds of birds and waterfowl. Fell asleep to thunderstorms way off in the distance. We stayed at first spot near the closest pit toilet, was a tad dirty but serviceable. Probably wouldn’t recommend for multiple nights and definitely not a destination type location but worked for us, lucky to have no major winds.

This site was so peaceful and beautiful, especially at sunset and sunrise. The bugs were terrible when we got there around sunset, but in the morning they weren’t swarming. There was lots of space between campers, and lots of places to choose from, all giving the same view. There were a few vault toilets that were pretty clean spread throughout, but a bit of a walk if you aren’t parked next to them. No shade in sight, so prepare to be pretty exposed. Lots of birds to see, and also some pretty cool rocks if you are into that.

Beautiful and easy to get to. Will fit any size rig. Paved the whole way until you get to the reservoir and then it’s a pretty easy dirt/gravel road. Lots of spaces available even on the weekend. Saw two spaces with picnic tables and formal fire pits but you can camp pretty much wherever. Only complaint would be the biting flies.

The campground is very nice, bathrooms are clean, and not many people out and about when I was here. A couple campers on the other side of the lake; I was the only one tent camping. Seems to be a popular area for fishing. However, the site has no cover from trees and is completely flat; therefore, it is very windy! Still a nice place to camp. The site came equipped with a picnic table and a firepit.
