    Newhalem Creek Campground is a solid base camp

    Newhalem Creek Campground is a solid base camp if you’re in the North Cascades to actually hike or paddle. You roll out of your tent and you’re already on trail, with the Skagit River right there and Ladder Creek Falls a short walk through some overgrown gardens. The sites have the basics covered: fire rings, picnic tables, bear boxes, and surprisingly clean flush toilets even on busy weekends. RVs fit fine up to 50 feet on paved pads, and tent folks get platforms in Loops A and B. Fair warning, you will hear your neighbors. The big trees give you visual privacy but not soundproofing. If you want quiet, grab a walk-in site along the creek and carry your gear a bit. At$24 a night it’s a good deal, especially with potable water and decent Verizon service thanks to being close to Newhalem. Book ahead on the NPS site, though cancellations do pop up. Just check Highway 20 before you go, since closures can mess up access during fire season or winter.     Good dispersed camping

    I camped here in spring. Minus two stars because the campsites are wrecked with trash. But still beautiful, and I had great reception. There were lots of open spots and I only ran to it two other campers.

    Potholes State Park Campground

    A Great Spring Getaway

    We spent 4 nights here in early April 2026. We had sight #58 and it was great! Each loop has a wonderful grass lawn to enjoy. Sites are pretty large for a state park, our 30 foot trailer fit easily and our F350 parked next to it in the space. Little privacy between sites but there is enough space in between that you don’t notice.

    If you have a tent, the spots are next to the lake. A couple had beautiful views of the lake.

    We’ve heard that the mosquitoes are terrible here but we were early enough to only have a few.

    If you fish or bird, this is a great spot for you! Bass were huge. And the Coots were fun to watch.

    Came in late as we traveled across the country. Easy to pull in. Quite. Clean facilities that included a laundry, pool, etc. and full hook up sites. Easy to pull through. Paved roads.

    Trailer Inns RV Park (Bellevue)

    Disgusting

    Front desk lady was a hugeeeee bitch when checking in. Lot is just disgusting and uneven. Barely any room to park your rig. The water is high pressure and leaking. Drugged out kids everywhere. Not safe for anyone. Clearly not maintained at all and the employees hate their jobs. DO NOT COME here. You will be unsafe and uncomfortable.

    Hoh Oxbow Campground

    Great view of the River

    We stayed in one of the back lots the first night, since we got there late (9pm) and the front ones were taken. In the morning we switched spots, after everybody left, and it was definitely worth it. All of the front spots have a great view and some have river access. Should get there before 5pm to have a good chance to get a front spot (1-5).

    Epic Spring Camp Experience

    This spot is well worth the cost for camping. We initially booked RV camp spots. But upon arriving, the hosts were super responsive and accommodating to move us to one of the A-frame sites on the bluff overlooking the water. The view in both directions were amazing (the nice weather helped), especially sunrise. The sites are well kept for camping. I imagine it could feel a little more active with people once late spring and summer are underway. There is a little separation, but you will want to be comfortable with other people nearby.

    Stayed here for one night, big open gravel lot, if it’s wel maintaned. One other guy there. Good for backcountry skiing or snowshoeing early in the morning.
