We found this place on the Dyrt app and stopped on our way back from Utah. It’s a great free place to stop. 30 and 50 amp hook ups water and dump station. The only thing I would say is that it does appear to be a spot that locals commonly meet up at for whatever reason. Not sure if it was drugs or what but we did see several cars come in hang out for about 20 mins and leave. Some would come in and park next to each other. So that was kinda weird but still giving it 4 stars because it was completely free and had everything we needed.
First off - nothing against Hereford, but it’s a cattle town. It smells like cattle. If that’s a problem, maybe look elsewhere. That said, this place is amazing! Several spaces all with water, sewer and electric - ALL FREE! There’s a nice pond which was completely filled with geese when I visited (Late November) but that just added to the ambiance. The space is in the town so you do get quite a bit of train, and car noise.
This is a nice RV Resort. It’s clean, well maintained, has friendly staff, a nice park area with water features, an indoor pool, playground, dog walk, and a cute shop with lots of gifts to buy. I would definitely stay there again!
Enjoyed the lake and ducks. Hooked up to 30amp, back in sites, water available, dump station. Close to town
We called ahead because we knew we wouldn’t be getting there till 1030 at night and the man said pick any spot we wanted and fill out a envelope and slip it in the trust box. Friendly staff, in the morning we met more of them and they were all wonderful. Unbelievably clean showers and bathrooms. About 1 mile from the famous buried Cadillac art attraction. The neighboring campers were all friendly some of them seem like they stay there long term and they were super friendly. All-around great campground.
Clean, quiet, full hook up, and free. About 5-6 spots, decent space between spots. And then there’s more space to just park if the hook ups are taken. Quiet neighborhood. You can hear the trains but not bad at all. Definitely a great place to crash for a night or two, rather than Walmart. And you wake up to ducks in the pond! Will definitely send the city a donation for the stay.
We arrived late but the neon sign out front was a great welcome. The office and gift shop area had a cool retro style to it. There’s a small gift shop there to grab Cadillac Ranch souvenirs. The lots for the RVs were easy to get to all were pull through and pretty level. Close to the highway so ear plugs would definitely help when sleeping. Easy stay for a night.
It’s a R.V. camp only so if you can only do tent camping, plan for elsewhere.
It has wonderful bathrooms and showers. Full hookups work great. Nice gift shop and convenient for town and the Ranch. The elderly owner was very helpful.
This is a great park if you have an RV; otherwise, regular camping might be a bit rough as the grounds are very prickly. There are stickers galore and not truly pet friendly, even though you can bring them. The lake is nice; however, they need more docking sites. This park is packed during the holidays and there is not an on call person to pay to enter. It’s an honor system. The little store of the main road does sell fishing permits and worms. Plus, there’s a Dollar General that’s close.
