Basic camp site with great lake views

Quiet, uncrowded. Situated on the edge of a cliff above Lake Meredith. Picnic tables and a pit toilet are available.

Black Canyon Campground, Santa Fe, NM

Beautiful campground. Sites well spaced with lots of trees separating the sites for privacy. Gorgeous hiking trail loop through the mountainside. Love this campground.

Gorgeous Canyon

Several different campgrounds in the park. Lots of RV spots and many separate sites for tents. They even have a few rustic cabins for rent. Stayed at Hackberry campground. We went last year during COVID and many RV spaces were closed, I don’t know why because they were well spaced. Hackberry…

Awesome

We will be returning to this camp ground. Words can't describe the beauty of this place. Most of the park was closed due to hunting season so we couldn't tour it all, plus didn't have time to. Do we will be returning to this camp and spending a few days.

When Palo Duro Canyon Campground is Full....

On the rim of Palo Duro State Park, lies a roadside attraction with Zipline tours, cute tiny cabins for rent and a small campground. Offering approximately 30 full-hook sites, and a dozen or so primitive areas to set up camp for cheap. Since we bring our own electricity via a solar panel, we have…

  • Sites are simple and many of the picnic tables are broken, but it's cheap and very close to the canyon. We grabbed a $15 tent site because we come equipped with our own solar electricity. They don't allow gas generators.
  • They offer zipline tours over a portion of the canyon, just outside the state park. Wasn't open when we were there, but looked exciting!
  • RV sites are in the middle, tent camping around the edges.

Nice enough but...

Called ahead and they were pleasant on the phone. Reserved a pull through with a small fenced in area for our dogs. After arriving and setting up a staff member came by to tell us to keep our dogs quiet because Mike Huckabee was staying in an RV near us. Of course when they pulled up in their…

Excellent option for overflow

Very clean campground. Palo Duro State Park was full. This campground is located directly outside of the state park entrance. Views of the canyon, quiet, big night sky. Clean bathrooms and facilities. Very inexpensive and easy. Highly recommend for the traveler passing thru.

Good location, still our choice for Amarillo

We stayed here in September, 2020. It is ideally located for our trip home from Colorado. It is still our first choice in the Amarillo area, but it has gone down from what it was a few years ago. Well laid out campsites and mostly pull throughs. Friendly staff and appropriate check in during the…

Great overnight spot

Friendly staff. Several travelers walking dogs and also friendly. Clean campground under the trees that made the city site feel like you were in a park. Amenities were perfect. It’s right off I-40, which is very convenient, however be advised you will hear interstate traffic noise. No problem for…

If it wasn’t for the unexpected storm, perfect!

Swimming, clean hot showers, potable water. And peaceful. And FREE. Even though the lighting hitting the lake right behind me meant I had to go, it was memorable. Everyone in the area came together to make sure everyone else was alright. This was my second visit. There will be more.

Nice campground

The campground was nice and the bathrooms were very accessible. The showers are free, which are always a plus. However, the toilets did not have very much pressure and they seemed to be clogged most of the time. There is a nice trail behind most of the campsites that goes along a creek. Overall,…

Beauty at its best

Update on previous review.

As i mentioned the parking spots are too close together. They parked a small RV in the slot next to me. Our front doors were to face each other but not enough space to have the awning out. I complained and was told the park was full and they had no choice. However this morning there were at least 6…
