This is awesome campground, lots of room. Tons of nice spots, longer ones for RVs. Great hosts. Clean area for sure.
This campground was brought to us by Passport America for $40 for 3 nights. It is not not fancy but if you like Mexican food, there is a restaurant right in front of the campground. Our site had FHUs with a level, rock pad in full sun. Sites were very close to each other with no fire ring or…
Showed up late hoping for a last minute stay. They were happy to help. Place is under reconstruction. Currently showers aren’t available but there is sewer and electric hookup available.
If you want to be close to the petrified forest national park this is it. You can see the gate to the park it is an old event park that went under and now you can use for free. There is a paid area where you can get electricity but it is just a parking lot
For accurate coordinates and booking visit Google maps and site on the link. As the owner and lover of nature I bring an off grid private campground. Upon arrival you find yourself on a prehistoric lakebed, just nature. Away from it all on the off beaten path to get there but hey 1.25 acres for…

I stayed in as deluxe tent site for one night after visiting the nearby national parks. Restaurants within walking distance, pleasant staff. Facilities are ok.

Beautiful campground with great weather! These are drive up campsites with great hosts. There was a nicely cleaned out fire ring and a good size flat ground area for our 4p tent. The campsites were a little close at times and was noisey after quiet hours but not after midnight which was good. At…

Used the free RV parking. There is a $15 with electric hookup version across the road too. The free site is strictly for fully contained campers. No car overnights, no tents. The museum/gift shop is stocked with tons of petrified wood pieces for sale. Bring lots of cash though… 😉

Rv spots are on the side of the gift shop parking lot. They have 30 Amp hook ups for only $15/night. The gift shop closes at 5pm so you need to be there before then or you will be without power until they open in the morning and you can pay then.
The camp hosts Chris and Jerry are wonderful. The camp was very clean and well managed. Each camp was like a little zen garden. Manicured very well and organized. The community toilets even smelled good!
This is a great state campground. Not a lot of sites but they're REALLY BIG and gives a sense of being in the forest but still has toilets nearby for those who need them. Great place for tent camping but most sites can support MH & Trailers.
Campsites have a decent amount of space. We had to 10 person tents, 210 x 10 foot canopies, plenty of area around the fire pit as well as space have horseshoes and cornhole set up. Maybe we got lucky with our site location but it definitely worked out well! The forest service staff that maintained…
Great setting on the lake. Hardworking helpful host team keeps the grounds and toilets immaculate. Lake is lovely. Early morning access before day use crowds come is great for quiet early morning kayak or SUP use.
Located just before south entrance. FREE ("Boondock") camping on East side. Electric (no water) for $15 on West side. We picked East as Solar gives us all the A/C we need! Gift shops to explore on both sides. SEVERAL abandoned cars in front of shops to "chum for patrons".... Great place to…
Van camped one night to test out our new van conversion. Area seems well maintained. Man made lake, levels are low. Easy to access from main road. Spots seem spaced well. Nice pad, picnic bench and fire ring.
