Easy access, and wide open

60’s-70’s during the day, high 30’s to 50 at night. Can be windy. A lot of campers, but there’s plenty of room. Zero amenities, and the desert is fragile, so you must be prepared to pack EVERYTHING out.

Boondocking at its best

La Posa BLM has several entrances and is massive. It makes reviews tough on this because it depends which area you are in. I’m am reviewing Tyson Wash and South.

I do not recommend Tyson Wash for large RVs. They are there, but there are areas where the ground is deceptively soft. We got our 38ft…

VERY popular

I've visited here 2 years in a row, 2021 and 2022. It seems to be pretty popular as it was very diffecult to find a secluded camp area.

Very accessible

I'm here in the height of snowbird season and the area is pretty empty, although the friendly camp host said there are hundreds en route, a women's camp group, ham radio operator group, and some other group whom I've forgotten. Nothing too spectacular for desert camping, mostly flat, a few dry…

Almost Heaven

Found a great private spot on Dome Rock Rd. Beautiful views all around and plenty of room, so far.

The Good and the Bad

The good: water, trash, dump are all available here. Very level ground. The bad: people. So many people. The price you pay for the good.

First Quartzsite experience was a winner!

Arrived in late October on the last leg of our trip from Montana to Yuma. Stopped at the “fee campground” and after we told they we were only staying one night they suggested the “no fee” area called Roadrunner. Proceeded to register with Ed (great guy) at Roadrunner and found the area excellent…

Easy camping off I-10

This site was really easy to find and only 3 minutes off I-10. The road in wasn't too bad, a little bumpy but my sedan went slow and found a spot.

Not sure how many spots there are. Despite the other reviews it seems like I'm the only one camping here (although it's raining).

From my site you…

Boondocking, Desert style

We boondocked at this location in January and found the weather reliving from the cold north.  There is water, dump and garbage available upon entering/exiting the property.  There is a large expanse of desert to choose were to set up.  We paid $40.00 for 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment of being…

Very Large14 day limit BLM

This is one five of 14 Day LVTA camping areas in the Quartzsite vicinity.

It was a very large site that had entrances on both sides of the road that each had their own host. Lots of flat open spaces. It is managed by the Bureau of Land Management(BLM). BLM lands have special rules, fees(…

Nice area, but to many campers for me.

This is a very nice long term (14 day) campsite, very close to the highway noise, and I prefer some place less crowded and quieter. Very easy access to and from the freeway. I would definitely consider this place for a stopover when traveling through and needing a rest.

Not Crowded and Quiet

I camped here with a friend in January/February 2020 we went back the end of January 2021 but it had rained heavily and the road was flooded. Looked like we had a riverside camp. We ended up camping between Boyer Rd. and the Alliance Church parking lot.  It's a nice area.  I'll definitely camp in…

  • This was just the water on the road, but it looked like we were camped on a river.
  • You can see the RVs in the background. That's where the actual camping area is located.
  • My Traveling Trolls enjoyed my walks. There's lots of washes to explore.

A Little Too Crowded For Me

It was an okay camping spot. Phone and internet service was reasonable (internet was slow) but there were just too many other campers for my liking.  I was there in early-mid December 2020.  I took a hike back behind the Dome Rock and found that enjoyable. It was a very easy hike.

Free BLM Camping Polmosa Rd. Quartzsite AZ

I've camped in the Polmosa Rd. BLM area several times during the past three years. My first couple years I didn't venture far from the area with the camp host.  This year I drove further east, about 5 miles, on Polmosa Rd. because my brother came from New York to camp with me and I wanted us to…

  • There are these packed gravel areas all along the BLM land where it's easy to level out and set up camp
  • Saguaro cactus - Did you know it take 50 years for them to grow their first arm?
  • Broad expanse on camping area. Few other campers near us.
