Enjoyed three nights and generally had the place to ourselves excluding the host. The host was very nice. The fee station was out of order during our stay, so we paid via daily tickets at a place in Globe on our way out. The campground is right off the highway so there was a fair amount of traffic…

I booked a reservation for this campsite, drove all the way there, and it was closed. Pretty disappointed that I was able to make a reservation, receive confirmation, and the site completely closed.
Probably beautiful. Had to turn around and drive all the way back. Do not go unless you have a 4x4 or are positive about the condition at the top. It was 67° in Globe this day. I have an E350 dually and I was sliding. I turned around at the sign. Was told several people in cars and trucks were…

We came in and stayed at a spot towards the south/downstream where a high clearance would be wise. We also went upstream initially. Great spots on the river. We spent the night there and had the place to ourselves. Theirs a little highway noise but with the river sounds and a fire it was just what…
Great spot to relax after driving thru Salt Canyon. Very convenient, close to highway, with very little noise. ATT was full scale. We will return.
This is a fine spot for a night/passing through but was not my favorite. Pro: camping at the edge of the Gila River, beautiful trees, free, trash containers and toilets, lots of birds - seeing my first cardinal was the highlight of the stay. Cons: murky water and not a pleasant smell in the air…

Great river access.
I have been going up there most Of my lifeThat is my favorite place in the whole wide world
Quiet off the beaten path place. Switchbacks most of the way up to the area. Wouldn’t advise a “big” rig. But once there and settled in loved it!
This campground is Free. There are 17-21 sites dispersed & in groups that include cement picnic tables, metal ring fire pits, and some sites also have Bear Boxes. There are 3-4 outhouses, no running water or amenities. To get there from Globe it’s 7 miles of dirt one lane switchbacks on the…

This place is a little easier to get to than upper pinal, which is just on the other side of Pinal Mountains. This campground was set up kinda weird, but worked out good. I would definitely recommend trying this one out, and I will definitely go back. Bathrooms were clean and sites were pretty…

The road in is very narrow, with alot of scrub trees hanging over the road. I have a Teardrop and it was about as big as I would take in there. No cell service, bathrooms were ok though.
There is a self pay machine, but did not work. The campsites are nice and roomy. Says there is a host, but there is not. Overall nice place and has cell phone service.

Not very much room for a trailer, mostly tent camping.
Did get cell phone service there though.
The trip to the top of pinal Mountains is a journey, very cool and beautiful scenic views, the road is not the best, especially if you don't have a higher clearance vehicle.
Overall it is Awesome, took an hour from Globe to the campground because speed is minimal.
