Dry camping on the shore.

Has trees and the road around the reservoir is gravel but not bad. The water level is low so muddy walking out to the shore. Beautiful! Windy some of the time. Only a few campers. Loved it!

Great Little Campground

Such a great campground just outside of Lusk WY. Pull through sites that are full hookup. Very clean bathrooms and showers (newly remodeled). Also have laundry services. Campground owners are super friendly and helpful. Also a very pet friendly place. They have WiFi that works pretty good. Have…

Many other campgrounds

Don’t let the map mislead you. There are many many places to camp. Some have pit toilets. Some pull offs are improved others are rough. But all along the lake. If you use Google earth you’ll find other spots off the lake. We stayed in the boat ramp parking lot.

Ok for a night

$20 for full hookups is a great deal. No shade though.

Guernsey State Park, Sandy Beach

Decent park, sites are fairly spread out. Dogs not allowed on the beach areas and lots of rangers. Hot with very little share if in an electric site. Sites by the water don't have electric, but have shade. Zero cell phone service in campground, but pull 1/4 mile out and great service. Nice right on…

Awesome reservoir! Beautiful location. Careful with dogs.

Free public access camping. Many spots right on the water. Great boat launches. Arrive Thursday or Friday AM to get a decent spot.

Sites are all boondocking only although access 8 with the boat launch does have a pit toilet.

If you bring your dog be aware the are has tons of foxtail growing which…

Super Nice Owner, Clean Bathrooms

Owner was very friendly and helpful with travel info for the area.  Convenient to highway for traveling to Blackhills, Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park.  Located in very small town, park across the street for kiddos.  Cute and clean bathroom with good shower.

Absolutely stunning

As we traveled up the road toward the park we were able to see tons of antelope and a herd of Buffalo. As we got closer we passed through beautiful formations. We were surprised to see signs that pets were not allowed in the park making it that we weren’t going to be able to camp. We loved the…

Nice place to stop

We stopped at the RV park on our drive home and stay for a night. Nice white box with hook ups for water and for power and a nice laundry room close by an offer less than 50 bucks. Scenery off of interstate in Wheatland, Wyoming, it’s not all that pretty but it’s a great place to stay on a drive…

Extremely large State Park

I think I gave this park four stars out of low expectations. Middle of nowhere Guernsey Wyoming the state park wraps around a reservoir with beautiful rock formations. There are campgrounds scattered all over and around the campground. If you were in a big rig this is not the easiest place to camp……

Awesome place to visit

A wonderful place to tent camp. Very quiet area, and sites are usually secluded. Gorgeous views. The reservoir is not good for fishing, so we went to the nearby grayrocks reservoir and had luck there. Also, the water is freezing! We tried swimming. There was also a small wildfire while we were…

Showerhouse Closed!

Its a beautiful state park and I’m glad to have camped here during my travels around Wyoming. I stayed at Newell Bay as its first come first serve. The price for the park is $30 for 1 day and 1 night which is a bit expensive. My only complaint is that the showerhouse is closed! I wish it had stated…
