Keep in mind, this is a KOA Journey. If you are staying here it is for a break on a road trip or to visit the giant casino across the street. That said, the sites are spacious pull through sites. There's a small pond that had Canadian geese swimming in it. The bathroom and shower area was…

Cooper Lake feels secluded. Lots of trees with a beautiful lake and well maintained hiking trails. It’s close enough to the Dallas area to be convenient, but never feels crowded.
Half of the campground is an equestrian camp. There are great hiking trails and beautiful views. Good shady spots.
We had two kids with us and we loved walking around the campground and seeing all the horses! But remember it will also smell like them so camp on that side at your own risk.
We camp here multiple times every summer. It’s very clean with lots of trees. Decent beach access but it’s texoma so don’t expect too much lol Great fishing set back in the cove and next to the dam.

Seems to be the newer (or newly renovated unit) with a ton of camping options! Sits seemed close together but sections were really spread out! Enjoyed the inner-active trail and the fishing pier at the day use area! Really cool playground area bear the swimming area.

The Campground is secluded in The Grassland National Forest.
Great bass fishing.
Platter Flats is usually quiet. It's been our favorite campsite for years because of this. We've always been able to find and open spot with a nice view.
This park was beautiful. We stayed at campsite 8 in the bright star loop and it was one of the best campsites I've stayed in. It was spacious and felt very private even though we knew there were other campsites close by. The site was also pretty level. We only stayed one night because we were just…
View was great and camp hosts were very friendly but the roads are horrible! The sites weren’t bad and ours was pretty level. The location is nice on the lake with lots of sail boats sailing by. There is plenty of space between sites, but no trees so not a lot of privacy. Probably wouldn’t stay…
Beautiful clean park with great facilities and amenities. Large concrete pads and shuttle to the casino. Perfect place to stop for a night or a week.
Nothing to knock you socks off, but it’s a great campsite close to home and nice for a quick getaway. Has the feel of being somewhat remote since it’s out by the lake.
We’ve camped in the site with the horse stables and put the tents with questionable rain flys in the horse stable.
It must have been nice at some point but it's obvious budget cuts and other priorities have taken its toll. Bad roads into and thru the park, grass in bad need of cutting, garbage (glass bottles and dirty diapers) on the "beach".
Sites are fairly well dispersed with water and electric at each.…
We camped at Oak grove 97 campsite and cannot stress on how beautiful it is to be right by the lake!
You want to get make sure to get there before the sunset, it’s beautiful to see the orange layer over the water. Nothing better than kayaking/paddle boarding or tubing into the sunset.
RV sites have water and 50/30 amp electric and there are 12 tent sites. We had a nice view of Lake Lavon. Grills and tables vary by site, some are very old, but many have been replaced. There are trees- some large enough to provide some shade if desired, but most small enough to allow satellite…
We really enjoyed the park it is pretty wide and spread out on lake cooper. We stayed in the Brightstar area of the park and had a great time. The bathrooms were very clean and in good working order. Was a great getaway not to far outside of Dallas TX. We will come back for sure. Has a beach area…
