    Cages Bend

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAGES BEND

    I've lived close to Cages Bend for over 50 years, but have never camped here until this past weekend. Man I didn't know what i was missing. This little hidden gem is the perfect spot on Old Hickory Lake for camping and taking in an amazing sunrise. You can easily launch your kayak from the shore or catch that big bass you've been trying for. They have a boat launch if you want to bring that or your Jet ski with you. Lots of trees help keep the summer heat from beating down on you and did I mention wildlife? We saw tons of Deer, Ducks, Geese, squirrels, Turtles and snakes, but thankfully the snakes stayed in the water! The camp host, Tanya and Donnie(i hope i got their names right) were amazing from Day 1. Very helpful and kind, blows my mind to see any negative reviews about them, they were truly Amazing! The campground is kept very clean and they take pride in keeping it that way. We stayed in spot 28 the first night, then moved over to 30 for 4 nights. Both of them are great sites. We have verizon phone/internet service and it worked perfectly there. I could go on and on, but i'll finish by saying, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a visit to Cages Bend Campground. We camped at over 50 campgrounds and this is in my top 3!

    Quaint/quiet and tranquil spot. Right on the Ocoee River. Packed during the weekends with pretty right spots but it’s an awesome setting with less traffic during the week. A lot of mountain bikers and whitewater enthusiasts.

    Very beautiful campground! Great deck on the river. We loved our firepit and watching the Moon Shine.  Owners are very friendly and want to make your camping experience a great one.

    Big Ridge State Park Campground

    Helpful staff and Great merchandise!

    Possibly the best merch I have come across at a state campsite And the staff were really helpful extending my booking. Everything works on the site with plenty of bathrooms. Lake is great for swimming.

    Edgar Evins State Park Campground

    Extraordinary!

    Possibly the most extraordinary campsite I have been to. Large decks suspended over the hillside, some with excellent views of the lake. We were here for one night off season, I imagine if you are here in summer you wouldn’t want to be on the side of the marina. We were originally in site 7, but moved to 53… sites 1-12 definitely take some parking skills

    David Crockett State Park Campground

    Very Peaceful

    Spent two very nice nights at David Crockett State Park campground 1.  The campground is well kept and very quiet.  The showers were a little musty, but private and good water pressure.   Sites have adequate space between them and some have shade.  Our first site was #14 - we didn't spend the night there.  It wasn't very level and the power connection was set between sites 13 & 14 - I had to park as close to site 13 as I could and run the power cord under my van in order to connect.  I didn't connect to water, but that was fairly far from the site as well.  I moved to site 17 the first evening - very level and easy to get to the water/electric connection.  There are some nice trails in the park, with the Shoal Creek trail starting right from campground 1.  There is also a nice stream running behind the campground which made my golden retriever very happy!
