Piney River kicks off camping season for us!

We’ve visited in our camper and have stayed in the tiny homes a couple times as well. PRR is very attentive with communication. They were super helpful when our plans went awry! PRR is working to make this beautiful space a wonderful place of connection for all ages.

Definitely follow their directions. Google Maps will take you to a road that is not meant for RV!

A Hidden Treasure

The staff was friendly and helpful. The campground is nestled around the Piney River amongst in the middle of the forest. The campgrounds have future expansion projects lined up to add additional sites, a pool, and a pet area.  Do not rely on GPS and follow the directions in your reservation email for the safest route. Stock up on groceries, the nearest market is roughly 30 minutes away. Check out the winery's.

Such a great place!

We had so much fun at Piney River Resort! The grounds were clean and well maintained. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Great river access and the water was clear and beautiful. We will be back soon for sure! It’s a little tricky to get to, but as long as you follow their directions and not your GPS you will be fine.

Beautiful on the River

We stayed in one of the Pavilion sites right on the river. All of the waterfront sites are nice, if you’re not waterfront it’s just another park. No Laundry facilities. Would definitely stay on the water here again!!!

Not worth the hype

I have a large motorhome and pulling a long enclosed trailer. Called in to book a one-night stay to confirm which spot is best for my length and easy to get around, the rep said spot 50 was best (our phone conversation kept cutting out so I opted to book online). The website was very easy and modern to use and I paid $66 for the recommended spot that had a picnic table and string lights (as well as 50 amp, water, sewage). The rep said to follow the texted directions instead of gps because gps route is not rv-friendly, that was such a joke. The “rv friendly directions” included an 8 mile hilly and windy road that turned into dirt halfway through with LOTS of potholes, quick turns, and SKINNY roadways. Driving in a night was very sketchy and then leaving in the morning was worse to finally see the area I was staying in, was not quite family-friendly. It made sense why DoorDash and Uber eats did not service the area. The nice string lights I paid for did not work. The paved pad for my spot barely fit my RV and made my trailer bottom out and scratch when pulling out. The turns around the park were big rig friendly once in but not so much going out. Will not be visiting again. I guess my only plus was the dumpster open for use.

Amazing Experience!

We had a wonderful experience at Piney River RV Resort during the 4th of July Weekend. Level concrete pads, very roomy. Private campground access to the Piney River was a great treat, especially with our small children. We will definite be back!

Nice hidden gem

We are on the river side. Spaces are nicely spaced. Views are perfect. Staff is very nice. The non river side is the same as most rv spots.

Looking for Breath Taking Views?

Not sure where to start as the pictures don't do justice to the location. We stayed late in November and absolutely loved it! Full hook-ups and blazing fast WiFi. I streamed the game outside while the kids streamed Disney+ inside.

Make sure to opt for the creek sites. More expensive but totally worth the cost. Camp host are super helpful. Wood available for purchase.

Getting to the location is a bit of a challenge with small roads and some dirt roads. If you are looking for a spot with a hiking this wouldn't your final destination. Close to the interstate which making getting groceries and food easy.

Did I mention the amazing views!

This is a nice RV, particularly by the river

The resort is pretty remote and the last mile of the road in is a little sporty. Definitely follow the campground’s directions, don’t rely on GPS or other services, as the campground directions are the only viable way in, particularly for Class As. The main campground is typical for RV resorts, sites pretty close together and in the open, but the sites along the river, where we were(site 1), all have concrete pads, are reasonably spaced and right on the river. Some have shelters over their picnic tables. The staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. AT&T had 1 bar and 0.04 MB/s w/o a booster, 2 bars and 0.2 MB/s with it. Overall WiFi was“ok” with data rates from 0.2 MB/s up to 1.1 MB/s. Satellite coverage should be good at any of the sites. We had visibility to all 3 DISH west satellites, so we didn’t try OTA channels.

Friendly staff but awful to get there

Staff we talked to was very kind but the drive in from the highway was very scary on narrow, windy roads with dropoffs on the side. We took the staff recommended route in and Co-Pilot's route out and both were scary in our Class A towing a car hauler. We had a site up on hill farther from the river (which was lovely) but we couldn't get level and couldn't put our slides out. All around rough stay. I'd say this is a much better stay for smaller RVs.

Favorite Spot In Tennessee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My second time visiting PRRR. I've stayed three times since this review. I stayed up the hill on a corner lot during the 4th of July. It was my first time and it was a wonderful experience. I had plenty of space to roam around in the river even while visiting during a peak time. So naturally I booked again and ended up snagging a beautiful riverside location at pad #9 The park owner Casey and Grounds manager Mike are the best and so gracious. I had a wonderful time exploring the property. Full hooks ups and a level pad made setup a breeze. Allen the park host even guided us in our spot and gave assistance getting back in. They do a great job keeping the grounds clean and well manicured. I love this spot and it will be a regular stop here in Tennessee. Some of the best access to the Piney right here. Highly recommend!

Rustic charm

Very friendly, family-owned rv resort. Camp hosts were delightful and Michael came to greet us personally. He took us through the precious tiny houses that they rent. We swam and waded in the (very clean) river and watched kids jumping off of the rock ledge. No frills, but very clean. Downside is there are not many sites near the water. They do have big plans for expansion!

Tip💡: follow the directions on their website!

Super place to stay!

This place is amazing! Clean, quiet and waterfront. We stayed in a river front pavilion. That side of the campground is not crowded. The water is crystal clear and cold. We sat in beach chairs and let the current wash over us. The swimming hole was great! We loved watching the younger crowd jump off the cliff into the water. Fishing and kayaking too! The roads to get here are not the norm but we had no issues. Just be sure to follow the directions the hosts send you. Speaking of the staff..the nicest people you will ever meet!

Very peaceful campground right on the river! Staff was very helpful. We stayed at a site with a pavilion right on the river and it was great! Our girls enjoyed swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Paved sites, fire ring, fire wood for sale, very clean campground, and only 45 mins to Nashville. Easy drive to Loveless Cafe for lunch.

Gorgeous RV Resort

We had no idea what a gem this park would be when we booked it. The staff is amazing! And the location right on the river can’t be beat! We’ve enjoyed daily time sitting by the river while our kids play and swim. The cell signal is not great but they have a tower being installed close by within the next few months. AT&T has about 1 bar up on the hill sites. We have an antenna that boosts our signal and has given us 2-3 bars which is totally usable. We just can’t recommend this place enough!

Almost perfect little campground

Very personable owners and staff, they greet you when you arrive and check with you and say goodbye when you leave. Like friends you never knew you had. The campsites are nice and level, very clean. The quietest campground we've ever stayed at. Only recreational things to do is swim in the river, catch crawfish, and fish. Kayaking the piney river is a must. They are working on adding amenities, playground, etc. We will definitely be back.
