With that being said, there was good and bad. The good was I found a spot quickly and had 2 entire ponds to myself. The bad was locals firing guns for the hell of it for an hour straight and the trash left behind from the previous campers. Once night fall hit everything was quiet so I couldn't complain too much. Awesome morning sunrise!
We have stayed here a couple of times in a tent and a class a motor home.
The campground is pretty secluded but beautiful rolling hills. While the site we stayed in with the motorhome was fairly level, sites are mostly small and tight on hilly terrain. That said, I would still recommend this as a nice weekend getaway
One of our visits was during hunting season and both the campground and the cabins were mostly being used by hunting parties.
This is also close enough in proximately to serve as an alternative camping area for visiting Hocking Hills
Our Spring time excursion at Beech Fork was delightful. All of the cherry trees and foliage are full in bloom and lovely. The lake was lower but it was still nice. The bath houses were impressively clean. They have a nice Park Head quarters with a general store that has grocery items, firewood, and cool souvenirs. There was even a retro arcade with games, air hockey and claw machines which the kids enjoyed. Extremely nice paved walking trails, parks, playgrounds, basketball court and pool (which wasnt open yet). Overall, the area eas clean, well maintained, easily accessible and still fully immersed in nature. We camped in our Jeep liberty and had a blast. We will definitely be back in summer to swim. Plenty of launch points for a boat or kayak if you have one.
Campground was well maintained, even the pit toilets. Our campsite was huge #46. But some sites seemed very small. It’s a short drive to the lake house for the beach and boat rental. The food at the Lodge is delicious! The drive to get there was rough. Don’t count on GPS. Look it up and plan it out before you go.
The folks that run this RV park are very nice and obviously have a lot of pride in their place. Valley Breezy is very well kept and clean. Good amenities- electric/sewer/water hookup. Pets allowed (on-leash).
We went in March and the campground was pretty empty and a lot amenities were still closed but the sites were cleaned up good from the ice storms. The sites are a little closer than we prefer but if its not busy then you have plenty of room. Lots to do in the park with plenty of hiking and exploring available.
If you want a place for your kids to play and ride bikes, this is it. Campsites are a little close in some areas but when you are here, you are family!
One of my favorite Ky state campgrounds. Plenty of space between campsites. Just wish they had sewer hookups…
