    Young State Park Campground

    Great location; nice amenities

    We really enjoyed our stay at Young State Park. Our site was just steps from the wooden walkway down to beautiful Lake Charlevoix, where we had amazing sunsets each night. The park is also a great base for exploring the area—we biked to Boyne Falls/Boyne Mountain and SkyBridge, rockhounded along Lake Michigan in Charlevoix, and canoed the beautiful Jordan River with nearby Jordan Valley Outfitters. 

    The sites are very close together. We stayed Sunday–Wednesday late in the summer season and had several open sites around us, which gave us plenty of breathing room. I’m not sure I’d love it during peak summer when the campground is full, as I imagine it could feel pretty crowded. The bathhouses and showers were very clean, and the water pressure and temperature were heavenly after a day outdoors. 

    Reserving online was easy, and the staff at check-in were friendly and helpful. Firewood at the campground was pricey, but we found a nearby home selling various-sized loads for much less. We’d definitely camp here again—especially outside the busiest part of the summer season.

    Clear Lake Campground

    This place was great

    Visited just one night midweek. Very quiet. Quiet is good in my opinion. The washrooms were clean and in good repair. The sites are larger than most campgrounds, again a great feature. The lake is clear and there is a small beach. I have nothing negative to say about this campground

    We happened across this gem of a campground directly on Lake Superior. Started with 2 nights and stayed 7. The beach went for miles and very sandy for swimming. Sites are spacious and private. Very clean everything. The camp hosts, Val & Ron, were awesome!

    Good state park campground

    Staff is friendly. Nice campground lots of pines no alcohol allowed at this park. Nice and quiet most of the time. A few hiking trails, 15 min walk to lake Michigan. Fire wood at the park is not too good. Bathrooms are clean as well as the showers. Playground if you have children.campsites are reasonably level some are a little tight to get into close together so not a lot of privacy. Still a beautiful campground we are spending the week here so far it's good.

    Grand Haven RV Resort & Campground

    Clean with lots of activities for kid.

    The grounds and facilities were very clean. There were many families with kids and a lot of activities for them. Spaces were reasonable but this is a large park. Be careful some site are very close to a major road. Our spot had water and electric very far apart and I had to choose…this was an anomoly.

    Gladstone Bay Campground

    Fine for passing through

    Campground is situated in an industrial area…warehouses, truck storage, etc. It does have a 150 ft narrow sand beach on a bay in Lake Michigan. Campground is a flat somewhat charmless place with tight spots. All the “full hook-ups” appear to be farthest from the water. Seems like a good amount of seasonal folks here escaping from midwestern heat. Bathrooms and showers are centrally located and are VERY clean and nice. We’re here just one night so no complaints but I wouldn’t stay longer than that.

    Baraga State Park Campground

    Beautiful place

    This state park was just beautiful! It is very well maintained, has clean restrooms and polite and friendly staff. It is right beside the highway, but if you’re in a hard sided camper, you do not hear the noise. It has a great area to walk, very dog friendly, & an exceptionally nice playground for kids. You can even order a pizza at Irene’s and pick it up less than a mile away It was one of our favorite stops!
