Lost lake trail

We had one of the sites closest to the beach access which was very nice for us, but since we were there Labor Day weekend(my mistake lol) we had a lot of traffic come through our campsite. We tend to enjoy more peaceful stays with less crowding. The beach had plenty of room for everyone to spread out and was not crowded at all which made up for it. Highly recommend watching the sunset from the beach. We also loved the lost lake trail. The group camping area is shut down.

Beautiful park

We loved this park and the atmosphere. So much room for all size campers, bathrooms and showers were clean and spacious. Beach access super close and plenty of roaming for our dog. Fire rings were the nicest we've seen and the park was kept clean and today, the rangers were on top of everything.

Very nice campground

We stayed 2 nights and scored a great site in a grove of pines. Many sites have partial shade, but some are in the open. The sites are very large and the power is located, at the center intersection of a block of 4 along with water. We used aprox 40 feet of cord and along with an adaptor to connect 120 to our 30 amp plug, which worked fine for our small scamp AC. We did not have enough hose, so we used jug water. The beach is a bit narrow, but has a very large sandbar so it was shallow for over 100 feet out. The bath house was clean and the water was hot. Highly recommend!

Family Favorite

Wooded sites. I think bigger than MuskegonState park which is just down the road. Cell service with Verizon is very limited. Beach is very small with lake levels being so high. Kids love the playground. Great campground close to GR

Great location

We have camped here several times and it is especially nice if you love Lake Michigan since you only have to walk to the end of the campground and the lake is on the other side of the dunes. Very family friendly and large sites.

Beautiful and relaxing

This campground is our home away from home in the summer! It is beautiful & very relaxing especially during the weekdays when it's not as full. The bathrooms are clean & the rangers keep up with mowing & other chores to keep the grounds clean. When it gets crowded the wifi doesn't work great & some of the campers are not very respectful; they cut through lots & don't abide by the rules (no pets on beach & no bikes or skateboards on boardwalk). The rangers get after them when they see it. Gets frustrating because it ruins it for others who care about the park. The only other downfall is there isn't much beach because of the high water table. I wish they could dredge & bring in more sand. Otherwise it's our favorite place to be!

Popular Summer Spot

This camp ground is very crowed, during the summer. The sites are close together, dirt, grass and semi-level. They have water, electric ,dump station, firepit & picnic table. There is a path to Lake Michigan. The beach is small but there is access to swimming. They also have an overlook, for a great sunset view. Park Wifi is very sketchy, even though we were right next to the transponder,  probably with so many people trying to connect. Verizon phone gets maybe 2 bars at it's best , LTE & Verizon mifi, will be able to bring in 3G.  All water spigots seem to leak and spray. However since it was so warm the kids seem to like it, however it does make a muddy mess. Each lot has room for a tent or gazebo. This park is huge and heavily wooded. If you're wanting your satellite to come in, there are only a few open spaces. We walked around it looked like site 76 and that general area, were open enough to get a clear shot. I would definitely stay at this campground again, but it will have to be off season, when there is a little more room to enjoy.

Great park

Clean bathrooms and showers. Warm water for the showers unlike some I have been to. The downside was to many kids roaming around screaming. I know that it’s not the parks fault for this but that is the only fault of the park.

Every year we go here with our whole family! We love the group camping area. Multiple bathrooms. Right on Lake Michigan. Great place to spend time with the family.

Great Beach and Facilities

The beach is a beautiful place to watch sunsets or see the moon over the lake. The spots are pretty close together but the ground is soft and flat. Choose a spot around the edge for some privacy.

Great County Campground

I have camped here many times over my lifetime. It is a great family campground, close to Lake Michigan and within driving distance to North Muskegon and Whitehall. Lovely camping in the pines within walking distance to Lake Michigan.
