The Best Tent Camping Near Williba, Kentucky

Set back almost a mile from the main road on its own private drive, Lago Linda Hideaway provides security and privacy for its campers in a gorgeous setting. The 35 Piney Woods and Lazy Oaks campsites (which can be reserved in advance) lie on ridge tops among groves of oak trees, allowing campers to spread out and enjoy as much privacy as they wish. All of these campsites are graveled and have electrical hookups.

 Each site has its own city water, picnic table, and fire ring. In addition, a large, grassy meadow provides ample overflow camping for tent and car campers, including a big, covered, cooking pavilion with electricity along with another covered area that provides additional shelter for a number of tents.

 Lago Linda Hideaway has a bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets, as well as Broadband Internet access. Well-behaved children and dogs are welcome to this accommodating environment.

Koomer Ridge Campground, located on Cumberland Ranger District in the Red River Gorge, features semi-primitive camping in a tranquil forest setting. The campground provides access to trails in the Red River Gorge. View Koomer Ridge guide & map. The campground amphitheater opens Memorial Day weekend and features a program each Saturday through Labor Day. The programs usually begin at dusk. Check the campground bulletin board or contact the Gladie Visitor Center for more information. Hiking/backpacking trails in the area: Cliff Trail #206 (.5 mile) Koomer Ridge Trail #220 (2.75 miles) Silvermine Arch Trail #225 (1.5 miles) Hidden Arch Trail #208 (1 mile). ACTIVITIES Camping: The Koomer Ridge Campground features semi-primitive camping in a tranquil forest setting. Interpretive Programs: Visitor programs are held on weekends. Recreational Vehicles

This campground is a climbers' paradise. It is 7 miles south of Red River Gorge, an area that offers over 3,500 bolted rock climbing routes. If you're interested in continuing your climbing escapade, you can also visit Pendergrass-Murry Recreational and Preserve Muir Valley, two more outstanding climbing destinations.  While visiting Land of The Arches, you'll have the opportunity to visit nearby Daniel Boone National Park and Natural Bridge State Park for hiking, fishing and wildlife watching. 

The campground has 99 sites with up to 51 guests per site. It is a large piece of land and is great for boy scouts. There is also a "hangar" which has a foosball table, ping pong, air hockey and free wifi.

Make the most of your trip to the Natural Bridge Campground in Kentucky with Natural Bridge cabin rentals or delight in the mountainside beauty of Hemlock Lodge, one of 17 state park lodges in Kentucky. The 35 rooms of Hemlock Lodge have private balconies. Open year-round. Rooms are available by late afternoon. Lodge room check-out by 11:00am, local time. We are now pet friendly. No more than two pets are allowed per room/cottage. 

Enjoy the great outdoors in a park campsite. Two campgrounds, Whittleton Campground and Middle Fork Campground, provide 87 sites with utilities. Tent campsites are also available. Dump stations and two central service buildings with restrooms and showers are furnished for your convenience.

The campground is on 10 acres of tree lined frontage on the Red River.  There is a mix of trees/shade and open fields.  It is a primitive campground, meaning that there are no power hook-ups or running water. There is an excellent canoe/kayak take-out.  It's location in the heart of the Gorge makes it the perfect place for riverside camping and provides access to hiking trails.

Of the six parks in the Bluegrass State, Mammoth Cave is the only true national park. This area of southwestern Kentucky holds the best outdoor activities to be found in the state.

There are a large number of campsites across a few campgrounds, and Mammoth Cave Campground holds most of them. Both Mammoth Cave and Maple Springs Campgrounds are accessible for RVs. Backcountry camping is also available for interested hikers. The caves are, of course, the big draw, and no matter where you stay, you should take a cave tour. Since there are no nearby forests or BLM land, the best camping near Mammoth Cave National Park is fairly far away at the Green River Lake Wildlife Management Area. If you can’t get a spot in the park, staying in nearby Park City or Brownsville, KY, is the best choice.
