Beautiful

Easy booking. Easy check in. Roads getting into park were narrow. But worth the trip. The campground is very clean. Easy hookup for electric and water. Except there was someone plugged into our electric when we got there. It was for a boat that belonged to campers up the road that didn’t have lake front. Other than that this place is awesome. We plan to come back when we can stay longer.

Love this place!

Nice campground right on the lake. Family friendly, lots of children on their scooters. Many campers had boats for lake recreation. Some sites can be hard to back into, especially #39 where I broke the stabilizer jack on the railroad tie campsite border. Recommend the sites on the water, with the exception of #22 & 23 which also looked very difficult to get into. Downside of the water sites is that most have very little shade. Bathrooms are decent, and handicap accessible. Shower water was lukewarm at best but it was so hot that wasn’t an issue. Did find a few ticks, but mosquitos were surprisingly scarce.

Quit and secluded

Pros: Quiet, On the lake

Cons: on site bathrooms and showers were dirty, we’re not very thrilled we had our dogs. Sites are pretty close.

Nice campground

This is a nice campground. Sites are level and spaced. Bathhouse is fine. Little beach area but no clear access to it. Would come back here.

Very Nice

Very pleased with our stay at Hurricane Creek. Sites are well spaced. Some nice lakeside sites. Nice camphost. Bathhouses could use an upgrade, but were clean and did the job. Very beautiful area.

Great spot. Close quarters though

All the amenities and very nice, but if you want seclusion this ain't the place. Plenty of trees on the outside edge none between sites. That is not a bad thing if you like to talk to people and your neighbor doesn't have boundary issues 😉

Quiet weekend on the water

We enjoyed the view of the lake all weekend. Cell service for Verizon and AT&T were good enough to work from the camper and T-Mobile was non-existent. Campground hosts were very nice when we interacted with them. The beach area was a plus for us as our dogs love to swim and it is only open to campers so there was no one around when we were there.

We love this campground

We visit this campground every year. There are about 45 sites. Camper sites have electric and water. There are tent sites also. There are about 15 waterfront sites, a playground, beach, boat ramp, and small bath house. They can accommodate all sizes of campers. All sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Several sites are current being renovated. Most sites are fairly level. The attendant was very helpful and we saw him checking the campground several times.

Wow! What a great weekend!

What a lovely campground!  Quiet and well shaded, we had a spot close to the water and absolutely loved it.  Everyone was friendly and it was very relaxing.  We walked our dogs around the loop several times throughout the day and loved the peacefulness.

Just a warning though that you are across the way from a VERY large marina and there were several boats anchored near the campground with the accompanying music and revelry going on.  Overall it wasn't too distracting but it was there.

Trees, shade, lake, and great campsites

What a gem! Great to see so many campsites nestled in the trees. There is ample spacing between sites. Lakefront sites are worth the effort to reserve!

Campsites are level and nice amenities to boot!

There are showers (with some room for improvement).

CoE area

Closed for season and upgrades when we were there. Seems kind of late to open an area. Right on the water and easy to get to.

Our favorite local campground

Our family has been camping here for 20 years now. We love it! Very peaceful and clean. Tent sites are right next to the beach so kids can go back and forth easily. Bathhouse is very clean and kept up. Sites can be on an incline but if you are from here you know that terrain near the lake area is very hilly! If you need a flat site be sure to scope out before hand:) only con for us is having to walk through the rv sites to get to the tent sites. Makes it a little awkward. But the view and atmosphere is worth it. Very good prices as well!

Great campground on the lake

Nice quiet campground. Most lots are 50% shaded and only a few not on the water. Shower house is clean and attendants are very nice.

Great sites, beautiful landscape.

You'll have to drive a ways out of your way to get there, but once you do, you'll be glad. We typically have to leave Fridays after work, so we typically arrive at dark; sites aren't well marked, and not much turning room on the road to manuever while you're trying to back up. There are several pull-through options and some small camping cul-de-sacs.

We stayed at site 40, which had a huge pad, great concrete coated picnic table and lantern stand. Firepits don't have grills options.

The camp is quite small, one major loop, and 5-8 sites on the water, but only available first come basis. Friendly and helpful staff and great diner called the Watering Hole 1 mi up the road.

Very nice bathrooms, centrally located, cute playground and right on the water. Only one dump site, and it’s a one-sided, one port, pull-through lane, so if you go at checkout /1-2pm, expect a 2-3 RV wait to dump.

Best for Boating & Fishing

This was a great location b/c it was quiet, waterfront and has great amenities (fire ring with grill, electricity, water, dump station, trash dumpster, dry firewood for purchase). The only thing missing was hiking trails. We rented site #27 and it was perfect. We hung out hammock between 2 trees over the water and relaxed by the waters edge. There was a playground for the kids to play at and we drove to nearby Land between the Lakes, Cadiz and Lake Barkley surroundings for geocaching. I recommend visiting the nearby Elk & Bison Prairie for $5/vehicle. We didn’t see elk that day but we saw a group of bison which was really cool.

Near the Land Between the Lakes park

The nearby Land Between the Lakes park is amazing. This is a much more basic park and campground on the shore of the eastern lake. On site there is a little swimming shore and playground, with lots more to do at the many other nearby parks. Quick trip from Nashville, close to lots of highways. Simple campground with facilities including showers and laundry,

Yay: there are a few walk-to-only sites that let you have more privacy and closer to the water.

Nay: you really need a boat! No complaints about the campground, some sites are a little too close together though.

Surprise: loved exploring all the tiny inlets.

More like a river than a creek!

Hurricane Creek Campground is small and intimate while still being close too many amenities. There are adequate RV campsites, and tent sites. Some RV sites require some serious driving skill to back your RV into and we better suited for tents. The tent sites are ample for tents, and two of the five tent sites have Trees close enough together for Hammock Camping.Tent site 11 has two trees that are not too big in diameter for hammocking. Parking for tent sites is above in a lot, and RV's are directly behind you 25-30 feet. I would recommend tenting on an RV site if you want your vehicle close to your site.

Me likely..

Hurricane Creek is off of Rt 274 in Kentucky on the east side of Land Between The Lakes.

The campground is tucked away in its own little area with lots of shade trees and it's very own boat ramp. The sites are close but not stacked on top of each other.

the RV sites are both next to and near the water. You can park your water craft nearby. There are also several sites up in the trees, some back in, some pull through. It is an older area so the pavement is not all flat and pretty.

The tent sites are walk in, from the boat ramp parking area. Shaded and accessorized with tables, and fire rings. There were a few that tree tents would work well on.

The shower house is a little bit of a walk, but centrally located for the entire campground.

Overall a nice , quiet area, I will definitely be back.
