The campground sits on a peninsula jutting into Green River Lake, with sites arranged in both wooded and open sections managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. A one-way loop through the newer section leads campers past shaded sites, while the original area offers larger spacing between neighbors. Most sites include hookups, and the facility accepts reservations along with pets.
Campers report consistently clean bathhouses, though some note maintenance issues with older facilities. The newer bathhouse receives better reviews than the original structures. Cell service proves spotty across carriers, with multiple visitors mentioning limited connectivity. Todd C. found it "a very nice, clean campground" despite proximity to the main road from certain sites.
Water access drives many visits here, with fishing spots available directly from the campground and a boat ramp within walking distance. The designated swimming area requires a short drive of about a mile. A playground serves families, and an unmarked trail provides hiking options. Sites 1-30 offer more privacy in wooded settings, while sites 31-80 sit in a more open park-like environment with street lighting.
Power issues occasionally affect the 30-amp service, with some campers experiencing outages. For additional options, see campgrounds around Campbellsville. Pre-stacked firewood often awaits at individual sites.
