Fun in Bardstown

My Old Kentucky Home State Park Campground is a small campground, clean, and friendly staff. There is a golf course on site. Plenty to see, including My Old Kentucky Home, the tour was amazing. Scout & Scholar Brewery was great. We will be back to spend time strolling the streets of Bardstown…

Too close to the road

Decent little place but the road noise was annoying

Beautiful state park, remote and quiet.

We had a great time. Bring the bug spray, sunscreen and plenty of exention cords. The campground needs investment as majority of the sites are narrow with difficult positions for hooking up and leveling, make sure you pay attention. To each site description. The Full hookup/Ada sites are new, the…

Great campsite

Great campground in Berea KY. Easy to get to, just off I75 at route 21. The sites were spacious and well cared for, and all are pull through. Picnic table and fire pit at each site. Some sites were shaded by trees, others were open. All sites had water, power and sewer. Onsite propane and small…

Bring level blocks!!

This used to be a great little place to go for a weekend getaway but not so much anymore. There are only one or two spots in the campground even close to level. The showers are clean and the whole camp is close to every store, distillery and restaurant you would want. Plan accordingly.

Big Rig Friendly Very Nice

Would have got 5 stars but the power would spike several times a day to 129-132 volts setting off alarm in coach. We moved spots and same issue but fewer times a day. Highly recommend Surge Protector at this park. Other than that, super nice, kid friendly, obviously, with lots to do right in the…

Great Camp and Fish Spot

Had a wonderful weekend at Kendall. Have heard it can be hard to get a reservation, and now I know why.

Most the spots are spacious and tree covered. Paved and gravel sights are the norm. Some sites looked to be 100 feet deep which offered great privacy. There are many buddy sites that would…

Loved it!

Loved it! I've been to a couple of CoE campgrounds before but this is now my favorite one. I had Site 31 right beside the Woodland Trail entrance but you're pretty close to the lake (the boat ramp is about a 1/2 mile as the crow flies) and you're close to town (about 3 1/2 miles roughly) if you…

Nice spots with good spacing between

Taylorsville Lake State Park campground is the newest in the KY state park system, and has gravel sites that have good spacing between sites. They are almost all very level which makes for easy set up. There are nice playgrounds for the kids and the roads are in excellent condition. Electrical…

Cute but small

We decided to go down for a weekend to see how we'd like it. It's situated high up on the Kentucky river bank which is nice but there's little access to the riverbank except from the floating dock and boat ramp. When we arrived there was left overs from the previous flood which made it very muddy.…

Pictures, is not what you get

Think twice about a river lot, they are 50’ up from the river. Like a lot of CG in the north, they save the the good spots for the regular’s. WiFi works well if you catch it early. 3-4am. No cell (T-Mobile or ATT)

Helpful Hosts

Within an hour of buying my 1966 Airstream (only 17’ but I needed a pull through!) I chose this beautiful campground because of the people! Starting with the needed reassurance on the phone, then setting me up and checking in to make sure I was doing ok. As a newbie, I was so glad to have the staff…

Camp in comfort no matter your style

This campground has much to offer. Tent/RV spaces galore, horse sites, and primitive. Two playgrounds, heated and clean bathrooms. Access to lots of trails and activities. I will say that the two primitive sites closest to the bath house are a bit wonky but totally useable but not for large tents.

Relaxing and low key

Nice clean and well maintained campground. Paved roadways great for biking and walking. Some spaces and turns would be tight for larger rigs. Playground has red clay dirt, so that was a bit messy. We did have an issue with our electric pole showing a fault on both the 30 and 50 amp plug. We…

My Old Kentucky Home State Park Campground

This campground was our Maiden Voyage with our brand new 20201 Jayco Jay Flight 294QBS (35ft Bumper to Tongue).

We arrived late in the evening, so that added a bit of added difficulty into getting the trailer parked.

We stayed on site 25. It was a hilly site (didn't know this when…

  • You can see where we have the tongue up high (and this was before we went to lowes to get more wood to make it fully level.
  • You can see how close the people are behind us in this photo. There were sites on both sides of us (thankfully empty) that were even closer.
