Nicura Ranch is a horse farm set in rural Berea, Kentucky. We have a small Inn, connected to the barn. The Inn offers 3 large and unique guest suites. Each suite has a patio and interior door leading to the stables. Two of the suites have full kitchens. The barn area also has a lounge where complimentary evening bourbon and morning muffins are offered.while staying with us, guests are welcome to interact with our horses and goats. They can explore the grounds, fish in our fishing pond, relax on the dock or by one of the fire pits.

The town of Berea is full of local artisan shops, and great hiking trails. Though you will feel a world away, there are plenty of amenities and restaurants within 5-10 minutes of our farm.

The gravel driveway to the sites is passable with any vehicle. If you choose to use our alternate parking there will be a hike to your site, appropriately 1/8 of a mile. I can’t stress enough that it is primitive camping, there is a restroom available at the top of the hill. We are inviting you to enjoy a peaceful, primitive camping experience on a spacious plot right on the sandy banks of the Cumberland River. We offer a tree canopy covered, serene spot that offers river swimming, fishing, enjoy a camp fire or just plain nothing but peace and quiet. Each site is equipt with a fire ring. The drive way to the primitive sites is a little lane that wraps around a mountain side that leads to the primitive sites. We do our best to keep up with it however due to the nature of weather, gravity and water it’s a constant chore. Your welcome to hike in to the sites, it’s not mandatory that you driver on down. If you feel comfortable by all means slowly drive directly to your site. If your not sure of the lane please hike to your site. In March 2019 a record flood devastated the campground, boat ramp, and trails in this area. Bee Rock Campground will remain closed until recreation facilities are safely restored. To find other campgrounds nearby, contact the London Ranger District at 606-864-4163, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Campground facilities at nearby Laurel River Lake open on April 12.Bee Rock Campground, located on London Ranger District, has developed campsites on both sides of the Rockcastle River. The campground is a US Fee Area. The Laurel County side, with 9 sites, is open all year. The Pulaski County side, with 19 sites, is open from mid-April through mid-October. An overlook along Bee Rock Loop Trail provides a scenic view of the rocks and cliffs along Rockcastle River. Bee Rock Boat Rampprovides river access. The campground features Old Sublimity Bridge, a historic structure built by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) in the late 1930s. The stone used in the abutments was quarried from the adjacent sandstone cliffs. The bridge has been restored for foot travel only. The name Bee Rock comes from a local legend which states that a large number of wild honeybees used to live in this area, using a hollow area under this cliff as their hive. Tired of the wild honeybees invading their hives, local beekeepers dynamited the rock, destroying the hive and causing honey to flow down the cliff into the Rockcastle River. Whip up meals with ease in the fully equipped kitchen, which is stocked with essentials like olive oil and common spices. A dishwasher makes quick work of all the dishes created by large gatherings. The attached laundry room provides a washer and dryer, as well as a large pantry for food storage.



Gather around large round tables in our light and airy dining room for meals. No matter how many people you have in the space, our vaulted ceilings ensure it never feels crowded.



Relax and unwind in the living room full of comfy couches and a pool table. It’s a perfect space for a night of games from our collection or to tuck into a cozy corner and read a book near the fireplace.



Rest your heads and prepare for the next adventure in one of our 5 bedrooms. The Master features a Queen bed, large closet and chest, as well as its own full bathroom. A private entrance to the wraparound patio invites you to step outside and enjoy the stillness of the woods. Bedroom 2 has a Queen bed, large closet and chest. Bedroom 3 has a Queen bed and closet. Bedroom 4, is our “Bunkroom,” which offers four bunk beds, whimsical design touches and lots of room to play. It’s perfect for kids – and kids at heart. Bedroom 5, which also features a Queen bed, is tucked away in the cozy upstairs loft.



Need to do a little work amidst all your play? We have you covered with a secluded office space that offers a desk and some peace and quiet.

Guests have access to the entire house and property, except for our RV campground, which is designated by signs.

Other things to note

We have a trail that provides access to the lake, but please note it is about a 15-minute hike. Because you are descending (or ascending) a ridge, it is steep in places and may be challenging for small kids and elderly adults. There are other lake access options within a short drive from the campground:

[\~ 1.5 miles] A public launch at the end of Highway 2393 (go out of the property and turn left. You will see signs for the ramp about a mile down the road. There is a small parking lot and rocky beach, as well as a ramp into the water.



[\~ 2 miles] Fall Creek Recreation Area. 874 New Fall Creek Rd. There are picnic tables, a playground and a ramp into the water.



[\~ 4 miles] Conley Bottom Marina, 270 Conley Bottom Road. You can rent kayaks, canoes, pontoons and ski boats. There is a store on-site that also sells bait.



[\~5 miles] Old Fall Creek (this is the cove in the back of the main Fall Creek Recreation Area, and there is a different road to access it). Turn Right out of the campground, turn right onto 1275, turn right onto Pete Upchurch Rd, turn right onto Old Fall Creek Rd. Follow it until it dead ends. There is a small parking lot and rocky beach, as well as a ramp into the water.

We have a limited number of sites dispersed throughout our 53 acres, ensuring you are immersed in nature - not neighbors!

Named for a favorite Willy Porter song, "Moonbeam" is a 12'x14' safari tent on a wooden platform with a roof. Listen to tree frogs while drifting off to sleep on a queen size memory foam bed with soft, dreamy linens. The tent features power, lamps, chairs, and a desk. Outside, enjoy a private fire pit or sit a spell on rocking chairs on the back deck. Our Community Shelter, with a fridge, sink, and coffee maker, and our Bath House with flush toilets and hot showers are a short walk away.

Moonbeam is secluded, yet close to amenities like the Community Shelter, which provides a a sink, mirror and outdoor shower, as well as useful cooking items: charcoal grill, refrigerator, electric burner, coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans and tongs. We also have a grate system that allows you to cook over the open fire (grates are hanging from a tree near the community fire pit).

Parking is approximately 200 feet from the tent.

The main trail to the lake begins right past the shelter, and there are other trails located throughout the property that take you to a natural spring and along the multiple creeks that flow down into Lake Cumberland.

Guests have the entire tent to themselves, as well as access to our Community Shelter, hiking trails and stocked fishing pond.

Other things to note

OUR LAKE ACCESS

We have one main hiking trail to the lake that starts at the back of the property near the Community Shelter. It will take about 15 minutes to get to the water, where there is a rocky beach to hang out and swim from. Because you are descending (or ascending) a ridge, it is steep in places and may be challenging for small kids and elderly adults.

Things that will make your experience most enjoyable: Water shoes (not flip flops), floats/lifejackets.

PLEASE NOTE: During spring and early summer, the water levels are higher and there may be limited beach area.

Waitsboro Campground is located on beautiful Lake Cumberland in southern Kentucky. Natural Features: The campground overlooks the main body of the lake, offering sweeping scenic views. Dense stands of mature hardwoods forest the site, offering scenic views, pleasant shade and wildlife habitat. Because of the temperate climate and relatively long recreation season, the lake provides varied outdoor recreational opportunities for millions of visitors each year. Recreation: Lake Cumberland is the largest man-made lake east of the Mississippi River. Its large surface acreage and over 1,200 miles of shoreline provide a myriad of recreational activities. The lake has an abundance of largemouth, smallmouth, white and Kentucky bass, bluegill, crappie, rockfish and walleye, making it a favorite among anglers. The Black Walnut Nature Trail, located near the lake office, is a self-guided educational trail. Facilities: The campground offers 17 RV sites, all with electric hookups, and five tent-only sites. Eight of Waitsboro's sites are on the waterfront, making them prime locations for weekend recreation. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities and a dump station.
