The nearby sunken foundation of the historic Willow Grove School House provides a popular destination for scuba divers. A swimming beach, volleyball court and playground provide additional recreational opportunities.

In the late fall through early spring, the American Bald Eagle can be spotted flying overhead or perched on low-lying limbs. Dale Hollow hosts the second-largest wintering eagle population in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky.

## Overview

Obey River Park is a spacious campground located on the shores of Dale Hollow Lake, in the hills of Tennessee. The campground provides the largest camping area at the lake, as well as the largest and most visited swimming beach. 

## Recreation

Dale Hollow is renowned for its fishing opportunities. In addition to yielding the world record smallmouth bass and being known as a trophy smallmouth lake, the Obey River below Dale Hollow Dam is also known for excellent rainbow and brown trout fishing.   
  
Boating and water skiing are also popular activities, and with 27,700 surface acres of water and 620 miles of shoreline, there is plenty of space for campers to explore the lake.

Getaway Campgrounds offers a modern, immersive outdoor experience for today’s camper. Each campsite is built for comfort, with clean and modern amenities designed to help you soak in your surroundings.

Our campsites are about 200 square feet with approximately 10’ by 10’ of space for a tent. Each campsite is surrounded by nature and offers a secluded, covered structure complete with a picnic table, hammock, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs.

You’ll also have a kitchenette fit for cooking with a propane burner (plus propane canister), and essentials including oil, salt + pepper, dishware, cutlery, and non-perishable provisions for purchase.

Saddle your horse up and ride right out of the campground and find the Cumberland Valley Trail head just 1 mile away, there you can take a nice short ride if you wish, find an overlook to stop and have lunch or ride for miles & miles!!! Lots of bicycle trails around here and the hiking is never ending!!

Our facilities include 33 easy access, level RV and camping sites, all with water and electric, some with sewer hookups. Our shower houses are very clean and provide plenty of hot water!

For those who use it, there is WIFI all throughout the 11 acre campground offered for FREE to all our Campers.

Don't have a Camper or Living Quarters? We've got you covered! We have lodging available to rent. Many different options to choose from. There is the Marshal Suite in the main building above the Mercantile Store that sleeps up to 8 or more and the tucked-in-the-woods Miner's Shack Cabin. We also offer the unique experience of sleeping in the Conestoga Covered Wagons for 'Glamping'- with some creature comforts of home (beds & heat/air!!).

If you are in need of horse facilities, we have two large barns with a total of 67 stalls, each with 2 bucket hooks for your water and feed, a saddle rack and a bridle hook. We have two large horse wash bay areas, and a large 60' round pen.

Dale Hollow Lake Primitive Camping is a unique series of 32 locations with a total of over 70 individually designated family campsites dispersed over 620 miles of shoreline. Campsites are located in both the states of Tennessee and Kentucky. Primitive camping offers a unique rustic lake front camping experience. Remote locations along the shoreline offer campers a peaceful nature experience. Most designated tent sites are accessible only by boat; while a few can be reached by country road. Campers are advised that these areas are remote, primitive sites. Toilets are vault/pit type outhouses. Campers desiring on-site attendant, security and law enforcement services are encouraged to use developed campgrounds where such services are provided. These services are not provided for primitive camping. Recreation Dale Hollow Lake, with its crystal clear water and forested hillsides, is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Dale Hollow Lake - Primitive Camping

This hidden paradise has a waterfall that used to have a mill on it in the early 1900's. There are cliffs on each side of the creek making it the perfect spot for serene relaxation. Following upstream is an assortment of spots to pitch a tent. The most notable sites are surrounded by hemlock tree's and is peaceful when birds chirp over the small rapids echoing from the large overhang



\*I am in the process of making multiple sites but until I do so it is first come first serve. There are multiple sites at main campsite and along creek, I've had a private event of thirty people staying at once. There are also smaller spots next to waterfall, uphill near cliff and I've had people go below falls for some complete wilderness (blocked by gorge and waterfall). With this being said, I do offer private bookings and accommodate special events!

The upper level of the Art Barn will provide additional accommodations to include 4 bedrooms, a kitchen and a full bathroom as well as indoor and outdoor spaces for large group gatherings, classes, etc. Reflection Tree Art Farm is also a chemical free, regenerative farm and will offer classes for those who wish to learn these techniques. Pitch a tent down by the creek or up in the cedar wood’s thicket or up in top of the hill over looking the creek or bring an RV. This is a 100 acre working cattle farm.

For those with an RV we do offer three sites with water and 30 amp service. If you prefer to be off the grid, then your options are limitless.

We are a little over an hour north of Nashville, TN and 28 miles south of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Home of Corvette Capitol of the World. Less than fifteen minutes from Barren River Lake and Brownsford boat ramp.

About the Property:



Dale Hollow Lake is right next to the property with natural trails leading right down to the lake. It's only a 1/2 mile hike or short drive to the lovely Star Point Marina and Resort, where you can enjoy kayaking, boating and fishing. Bunkum Cave trail hike and Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park are also within driving distance of our property and make for great day trips! Hiking, swimming, kayaking, and mushroom hunting are just some of the fun outdoor activities you can enjoy during your stay. Secluded camp site in a beautiful forest glade overlooking a deep ravine. Sunsets here are gorgeous.



We enjoy meeting new people and encourage a family-style atmosphere. Please come and enjoy this wonderful land. We hope you love the stunning sunsets, being surrounded by forest, and the ideal lake access as much as we do!



About the Campsite:



The campsite provides various mostly level spots for pitching your tents and setting up camp amidst the beautiful hardwood forest that surrounds you. There are also some ideal hammock camping sites among the trees. Site will accommodate a modest pull behind camper, contact us and we can give you more details. There is a fire ring for you to use, so cozy up by the campfire and toast some marshmallows during your stay! We are a family-friendly campsite, so feel free to bring the kids. There is a garden hose on the property, though we always welcome you to bring your own drinking water as well.



Other Things to Note:



\- Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm



\- You can stay connected if you'd like to, as cell reception is available on our property, yet at times it can be spotty out here in the woods. There is no Wi-Fi. Feel free to unplug during your stay, though!



\- Furry friends are welcome, just keep any mess cleaned up!

Of the six parks in the Bluegrass State, Mammoth Cave is the only true national park. This area of southwestern Kentucky holds the best outdoor activities to be found in the state.

There are a large number of campsites across a few campgrounds, and Mammoth Cave Campground holds most of them. Both Mammoth Cave and Maple Springs Campgrounds are accessible for RVs.
