Sun up or sun down

We were next to a host site. They kept the very bright lights on there RV shining all night long. It was very disturbing. The park and trails are ok the playground was shut down. The mangrove trail was shut down. But there is still alot to do at Pennekamp st.park

  • getting ready to grab a bite to eat!
  • beautiful blue crab tangled in the mangroves
  • very beautifu cannon beach with Anna

Awesome!

We were fortunate to stumble into this campground when they re-opened after rebuilding from the hurricane. Staff was extremely friendly and so helpful. Was a little bummed the “beach” was not truly a beach and was so rocky it was impossible to walk on but overall an excellent value for the $.

Poor maintenance & Not impressed!

Overall poor maintenance in campsites. Ours had safety issues with dock. After pictures and reviews we expected a lot more from this place. Nighttime staff is just plain nasty to guests and doesn’t follow the rules. Daytime staff was excellent. Was told only reason this place has all positive…

A Loop

Down at Flamingo, there’s four types of camping: eco tents, tents (A Loop), campers/ RVs (T Loop) and the backcountry chickees. This review is for the ✨A Loop Tent Camping.✨

I happened to be down here on a weekend of a full moon, so my thoughts on tent camping in Flamingo might be a bit skewed…

Eco Tents 😍

Down at Flamingo, there’s four types of camping: eco tents, tents (A Loop), campers/ RVs (T Loop) and the backcountry chickees. This review is for the ✨eco tents✨.

The eco tents are awesome in general, but more so if you’re new to camping. Some come fully furnished with beds, nightstands, etc,…

Tent and family

Great location closes to Miami, clean sites, amenities are great , the pool was clean. Our tent site T31 was facing the Marina and it was great. Electric and water included. Boat ramps for rent, kayak and fishing

Absolutely beautiful

This place is beautiful and worth every bit of the higher price. Staff is so nice and friendly. They have a size minimum but not an age! Water view site was just wonderful with the tiki hut to relax or eat dinner under. Facilities are nicely kept. 20 minute drive to Key West. Luv luv luv!!!

Perfect location for adventure

Tent sites are primative ( no water or power) but you have everything you need close by...even a 25/7 ice machine! Great pool, views are amazing. Lots of campers brought their boats here. Site was sandy but larger than expected. Great jumping off point for diving, kayaking or swimming with…

Tight sites but great sunsets

This campground is small with tight sites (short and close together). There’s no pool but there are laundry facilities and a clean bathroom. There’s a community grill, picnic area, and chairs to enjoy the sunsets

Nice campground a ton of mosquitos

Stayed at the T loop campground. Arrived late at night around 10 pm. We reserved a spot without hookups, big mistake, too hot to sleep and somehow mosquitos made their way inside. Next morning I called to switch spots and the kiosk switched us no problem. Very helpful and friendly staff. Both spots…

Bad Water and Full Timers

I wanted to like this place but I just didn't It was clear there were a lot of full-timers there that make this park their permanent residents. Which made it feel and look more run down. I think because of the rain, the water coming into our camper was dirty. The dump station was on a steep incline…

Cool Location on Outskirts of Marathon!

This state park is super well kept and the staff was very friendly.

Easy place to launch a kayak or paddleboard from the campground without having to relocate.

There are two paddle trails from the Campground. Ask the ranger about them when you check in.

There is also a surprisingly large…

Four Windy Days in the Glades!

Originally I was over in the Trailer loop but was able to relocate to the tent camping loop.

Site #53 was a winner with a nice big tree for plenty of afternoon shade.

Nice bathroom with solar heated showers centrally located in the loop.

Also within walking distance of a beach area and the…
