Bluewater Key RV Resort

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting on a narrow strip of land between a canal and the Gulf of Mexico, Bluewater Key RV Resort occupies one of the more distinctive waterfront positions in the Florida Keys. The resort is about 20 minutes by road from downtown Key West, placing it close enough for day trips while keeping it removed from the density of the city. Sites accommodate RVs up to 75 feet and come with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer.

Each site is privately owned, which means the outdoor setups vary considerably from one spot to the next. Canal-side sites include docks where campers have tied off kayaks, small boats, and jet skis directly from their site. Many sites have tiki structures or covered cabana areas with outdoor furniture, and some include outdoor showers and kitchen setups. Campers can fish or snorkel from their own site. Daily garbage and recycling pickup is part of the operation. Rates run $100 to $300 per night, and the spread in price reflects the range in site amenities and water positioning.

Not all experiences here have been consistent. At least one reviewer flagged safety concerns with a dock and noted that nighttime staff interactions were a problem, a contrast to the generally positive reports about daytime staff. Site condition appears to vary by individual lot. Those planning a stay would do well to request specific site details in advance. Nearby alternatives like Sugarloaf Key RV Resort & Cottages and Geiger Key RV Park offer additional options in the area. As Candace notes after returning for a second visit, the canal-side spots include "an outdoor shower, outdoor living space, and a dock." This resort makes the most sense for RV travelers who want direct water access and are willing to research individual site conditions before booking.

Our New Favorite Spot!

We had a spot on the canal for our first visit. It included an outdoor shower, outdoor living space, and a dock for getting in and out of our kayak. We loved it so much that we just booked our reservation for a second stay, this time on the bayfront side!

Poor maintenance & Not impressed!

Overall poor maintenance in campsites. Ours had safety issues with dock. After pictures and reviews we expected a lot more from this place. Nighttime staff is just plain nasty to guests and doesn’t follow the rules. Daytime staff was excellent. Was told only reason this place has all positive reviews on website is because they don’t post any less than 5. Very dishonest. We live in Florida, regular maintenance prevents rust and dock issues. Came here to relax and unwind and instead we were screamed at like children that were misbehaving badly for sitting at the pool relaxing or walking our dog.

Beautiful and private resort

We loved our time here - it was truly a luxury RV resort. Each spot is privately owned and has its own outdoor cabana (each spot is different though). We stayed in spot 10 on the canal side and loved it. The cabana was recently remodeled and had a nice fireplace and TV along with a kitchen and bar. Next time I think we would prefer to stay on the ocean side though!

Beautiful Luxurious RV Resort! Cant wait to return

Gorgeous site with a canal on one side and the gulf on the other! All sites immaculately kept with their own tiki area. Garbage pickup daily as well as recycling pickup. The staff is incredibly helpful and professional. All sites are privately owned. Sites on the canal side have docks where you can pull your small boat or jetski up to and tie off.
