Easy access, and wide open

60’s-70’s during the day, high 30’s to 50 at night. Can be windy. A lot of campers, but there’s plenty of room. Zero amenities, and the desert is fragile, so you must be prepared to pack EVERYTHING out.

Boondocking at its best

La Posa BLM has several entrances and is massive. It makes reviews tough on this because it depends which area you are in. I’m am reviewing Tyson Wash and South.

I do not recommend Tyson Wash for large RVs. They are there, but there are areas where the ground is deceptively soft. We got our 38ft…

VERY popular

I've visited here 2 years in a row, 2021 and 2022. It seems to be pretty popular as it was very diffecult to find a secluded camp area.

Very accessible

I'm here in the height of snowbird season and the area is pretty empty, although the friendly camp host said there are hundreds en route, a women's camp group, ham radio operator group, and some other group whom I've forgotten. Nothing too spectacular for desert camping, mostly flat, a few dry…

A van lifer’s dream

Quartzite is definitely the Mecca of all Van lifers during the winter months and this time out was no different. You can be in the little town with conveniences or go far out and get away from it all. The weather is perfect and the people are friendly

Really big and perfect location

Hi Jolly is BLM so it’s free which means you need to be self-contained.

Although we are here in the winter, it’s full but not packed. The spots are large and able to accommodate our Class A. This area has a park host, so if he’s there, check in. It’s clean, lots of dogs (which I am a fan of…we…

Rocky start.

This year started off with a shift in park management. The new park manager was not suited for what was required to run this park. Senior management for this company terminated the park manager. This left the park with only 2 employees. Despite the shortage in manpower, Nona, and Jesse have kept…

Tent camping

Living in a tent is a challenge, but it pushes me and bring out my basic survival instincts. Especially during the cold nights. But with preparation (be prepared as taught in boy scouts) and adapting to changing circumstances, it becomes a normal reality. Solar panel, 12v 100ah deep cycle battery …

The Good and the Bad

The good: water, trash, dump are all available here. Very level ground. The bad: people. So many people. The price you pay for the good.

Wide open in December

Found the whole Quartzsite area intriguing and lots of activities i.e. craft shows, swap meets and other get together’s. If you do not have a four-wheel-drive then there are not many outdoor activities. We saw delivery trucks for emptying black tanks, Propane, and water. Quartzsite has everything…

Great spot

Large dispersed camping. Boondocking here was easy, close to town and beautiful sunrise/sunset. The host was nice. No fee camping so how could anyone complain! Flat land with lots of room to explore.

First Quartzsite experience was a winner!

Arrived in late October on the last leg of our trip from Montana to Yuma. Stopped at the “fee campground” and after we told they we were only staying one night they suggested the “no fee” area called Roadrunner. Proceeded to register with Ed (great guy) at Roadrunner and found the area excellent…

Easy camping off I-10

This site was really easy to find and only 3 minutes off I-10. The road in wasn't too bad, a little bumpy but my sedan went slow and found a spot.

Not sure how many spots there are. Despite the other reviews it seems like I'm the only one camping here (although it's raining).

From my site you…

Boondocking, Desert style

We boondocked at this location in January and found the weather reliving from the cold north.  There is water, dump and garbage available upon entering/exiting the property.  There is a large expanse of desert to choose were to set up.  We paid $40.00 for 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment of being…
