Beautiful clean spot

Stopped here prior to visiting the petrified forest. What a clean, quiet, gem. The lake was frozen over which made for tons of fun for us throwing rocks and listening to the ripple. I’d say there is at least 10 spots. Port-o-potty there and trash so please continue to keep this clean free site just…

A great quiet place in the woods

Excellent place to camp. If you want to feel like camping in the forest and having access to the towns amenities this is the place. The hosts are incredible.

Feel Iike you're camping in the forest

Awesome Low key campground that's next to Show Low Lake. 30 amp service in some spots, no water or sewage but there is a dump station and water fill station on premises. Open all year and is plowed when it snows.

Awesome campground

We love this campground. Place to get out of the AZ heat with full hookups, bathrooms, showers, tent sites. In the pines just a beautiful place. Plan ahead as they are booked most of the time. About 6 months to 1 yr ahead to plan this trip.

Unexpected excellence

We are truly blown away when we arrive and find such an awesome place to set camp. The place is clean and so quiet. Bathrooms are nice with showers and hot running water. Only one loop is open in winter but has full hook up and we found a site even though we arrived after office was closed and it…

Good to do once....

We made the mistake of visiting here on a holiday weekend. At other times I suspect this is a decent place, but this particular weekend was chaos and everything was broken/dirty. Trash overflowing. Bathrooms with super long wait times (hour or more). They don't have enough facilities for the…

Heaven on Earth

Probably one of the best campgrounds I have visited.  It is spacious, quiet, and clean.  The lake is fabulous for kayaking, or just hiking around.  Each campsite is spaced well away from neighboring sites, among beautiful, tall pines.  There is room to stretch out and relax.

There are…

Amazing Labor Day weekend

Wonderful time on the lake. As long as you stayed away from the boat ramps which was overcrowded for our taste. Bathrooms were the cleanest we’ve seen! Will definitely stay again if able to get a reservation.

Magical getaway

Waking up to nice cool weather, enjoying a nice fire with a piping hot cup of coffee watching the wild life roam is a magical, no busy streets no hustle and bustle. Watching my children explore and love nature is makes my heart happy. We are blessed to enjoy or time out and become one with mother…

Self contained only

If you want to be close to the petrified forest national park this is it. You can see the gate to the park it is an old event park that went under and now you can use for free. There is a paid area where you can get electricity but it is just a parking lot

Simple but free

Used the free RV parking. There is a $15 with electric hookup version across the road too. The free site is strictly for fully contained campers. No car overnights, no tents. The museum/gift shop is stocked with tons of petrified wood pieces for sale. Bring lots of cash though… 😉

Great facilities, quiet, well-lit, clean!

My friend and I camped here in a tent overnight. Each space came with its own fireplace, picnic table, shade, and a gorgeous view of the lake. The bathroom was well-lit at night and very clean for a campsite bathroom. There are water spigots everywhere for free use. They even include doggy bag…
