Rv spots are on the side of the gift shop parking lot. They have 30 Amp hook ups for only $15/night. The gift shop closes at 5pm so you need to be there before then or you will be without power until they open in the morning and you can pay then.
Had a nice time here with the family. The spots are spaced out decently.
Great setting on the lake. Hardworking helpful host team keeps the grounds and toilets immaculate. Lake is lovely. Early morning access before day use crowds come is great for quiet early morning kayak or SUP use.
Great free area to camp. Spots go fast on the weekends. There were some campsites where people left trash which was disappointing. Pack it in and out!
Rocky & bumpy road, but beautiful views!

Located just before south entrance. FREE ("Boondock") camping on East side. Electric (no water) for $15 on West side. We picked East as Solar gives us all the A/C we need! Gift shops to explore on both sides. SEVERAL abandoned cars in front of shops to "chum for patrons".... Great place to…
With your permit to hike Cibecue Falls it gives you one night of camping at the camp ground. There is no power or water. They do have a bathroom. It does make for a relaxing night after a short hike to the falls. The road back is a dirt road with a cliff on one side. Saw cars back there so not a…

Van camped one night to test out our new van conversion. Area seems well maintained. Man made lake, levels are low. Easy to access from main road. Spots seem spaced well. Nice pad, picnic bench and fire ring.
Nice open campsites - hosts on duty during open season. Can be Tricky to get out of mud when it rains. - Driveways can be Rocky and muddy. but overall a great place to camp. As expected, no Amenities. pack out what you bring in.
Such a Beautiful area! Pleanty of sites with fire pits and gorgeous views! We even had 3 wild horses come through camp one morning. Can get very windy right on the rim. So be firewise with choosing when not to build a fire!

Unfortunately contracting/spreading covid is more likely when you camp alone, so that’s off limits for now, but you can day use the park, and mingle with all the other day users.. much safer 😂 Anyway, it’s a gorgeous place with the highest concentration of petrified wood known to man.

Tons of dispersed camping sites. Most of the road is in fairly good shape. Lots of shade.
We didn’t actually stay here because the reviews were confusing and we got into town late and needed a reliable place to stay. We ended up driving past it while leaving The Petrified Forest and saw plenty of RVs parked in the lot with signs saying RV’s could stay overnight for free. We asked one of…
I had my reservations about going here. I thought would see the park in 20-30 minutes. We took almost three hours to drive the 25 miles through the park. Some areas are very austere, however the OTHER areas more than make up for it. The Petrified Forest is NOT a bunch of rocks laying around.…

Easy to find, exceptionally clean campground, and just a walk away from the lake. The hosts were polite, attentive, and clearly take a good care of this area and bathroom facilities which were especially clean. Drinking water available and firewood for purchase. The only downside was the campsites…
