Holidays get packed. Currents get strong out in the middle lista of Spots. Wild horses. Fishing, you can camp in Friday-Out sunday
Beautiful campground with great weather! These are drive up campsites with great hosts. There was a nicely cleaned out fire ring and a good size flat ground area for our 4p tent. The campsites were a little close at times and was noisey after quiet hours but not after midnight which was good. At…

As I usually do in places like this I will advise you should have an suv or truck and 4wd before even bothering with this area.
It’s remote as can be and there isn’t a single thing out here including cell service
As far as the camp site well it’s about a 40mi trek through the empty desert to…

Swung through here on my way to Phoenix after driving 13hrs. Middle of the week so was easy to find an open spot and honestly I want too picky. There were still a good amount of people camping so I can only imagine weekends or prime times this place is hectic
Good flat spots all around with fire…
First and foremost keep your eyes on temperature and property in this area and make sure you’re setting up in used areas and not just driving all over the landscape
I camped here in June and thankfully I was prepared because it was a cooker and there isn’t a lot of shade or cover so you need to…
Knoll lake campground is very clean and well kept. Designated areas for tents that were raked up. The bathrooms were cleaner than most restaurants.
Great area for dispersed camping! Plentiful large sites, and big rig friendly. Cell signal is sporadic, depending on the occupancy of the RV park down the road about 6 miles. More RV park campers means more cell congestion and slower speeds.
If this area has a drawback, it's that it has a lot of…
The camp hosts Chris and Jerry are wonderful. The camp was very clean and well managed. Each camp was like a little zen garden. Manicured very well and organized. The community toilets even smelled good!
Dispersed camping off dirt roads. Highly Used but still space for privacy. Fire restrictions in the summer. No cell service. Some groups were loud and some vehicle traffic throughout the night. Sites are not numbered, just camp near the road. Check out Woods Canyon Lake on the way in!

We had a great stay at lost dutchman, lots of great hiking, and dog friendly attractions nearby.
Took a trip out to the water and explored while in the Jeep.
- Peaceful and relaxation!
- Some hiking, read a book, and close to Payson.
- my android had service to check in with my family.
- Clean Campground and Bathrooms.
- 2 miles East on Houston Mesa rd. Away you can drive to shofly Indian ruins.
- 2 miles north on 260 is creek on the West side of the…
Went out to fine tune our camping setup with the family and a new tent. After several years away from camping, we are quickly learning the ropes. Lost Dutchman is close enough to town if we need supplies(which this trip proved to be needing) that we can go get what we need from Apache Junction.…

This is a great state campground. Not a lot of sites but they're REALLY BIG and gives a sense of being in the forest but still has toilets nearby for those who need them. Great place for tent camping but most sites can support MH & Trailers.
I love these sites, they seem to really embody the AZ southwest camping experience for me. Our site had a view of a trail where we watched equestrians ride by sporadically throughout the evening. We saw some snakes, coyotes, and other wildlife. This is a very nice site, and a quick drive from…
