This is a quite place way back in the mountains of Southern Virginia. The roads going into the campground is very narrow and steep up and downs. My breaks were gone by the time I got to the entrance. Mostly boaters go here to camp and mostly locals. The site has water, 50,30,and 110 hookups. No…

Nice campground with spacious campground sites. If you like hiking... this park is perfect! Hanging rock is a beautiful spot.. go early cuz it gets busy. Lots of waterfalls as well.
But if you want the lake you’ll have to pay extra per person to use. As well as rent boats & boards...…

The police visited us bc we were drinking outside of our camper. He was very nice and explained no alcohol allowed. This is clearly stated and we were in the wrong. Spaces are not private but the lake is beautiful. I can see where some people would love this campground. We canoed and that was fun.
We were a little taken aback when we first arrived at our site but quickly began to appreciate the beautiful field we were camped in with electric and water hook-ups. Not sure about other sections of the venue but we had privacy due to the very few people in sites around a huge field that appears…
Great open and spacious camping lots in the trees. They are also located along the hiking path for Moore's Wall and a short walk to the beach where you can swim out to a large floating platform or just hang out in the sand.

We stayed here for one night in December . We arrived late around 7pm and it was getting dark, our lovely Host was very kind and showed our site - It also had heated water hose so that was a big bonus. Yes
Several RV sites located right on Beautiful New River. Tent camping also available. Bring your fishing pole for some great catch and release fishing, or rent a inner tub or canoe and float down River to a shuttle bus that brings you back to the campgrounds. One of my all time favorite places to…
We spent one night at Hanging Rock State Park on our way home to West Virginia from South Carolina. Unfortunately, lack of time and rain kept us from taking advantage of the myriad of trails to explore in the park. After our arrival on Saturday afternoon, we had enough time to hike to the top of…
Campground is a good size and the trail is challenging but short. I visit mostly for the views at the top. It's a beautiful spot to look out and see Winston Salem! It is a good area for family camping.

Followed a winding road up the side of a mountain to this small campground. It’s late March and the weather isn’t great this week, so few other campers. The bathhouse has hot showers but not all the water pedestals around the park are on yet. There are numerous hiking trails of varying length and…
We camp here annually with my wife’s side of the family (it’s half way between us and them). We love it. We like getting the sites which are right next to the creek because the kids will play in the water all day.
In the shoulder season the campground isn’t staffed often, but what do you expect…

My wife and I like to frequent this campground because it’s not too far from home. It’s usually not crowded. The premium tent sites are huge! Clean bath house. Friendly staff!
One negative, the firewood they sell is next to impossible to light.
Rocky Knob is a good campground for a couple nights along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Loop C is tent only. Inner part of the loop sites are quite close to each other but have convenient access to bathhouse, which is kept pretty clean. Firewood $7 a bundle on the honor system, but is locked up at 5:30…
