Awesome Place

The Virginia Beach KOA is a nice place to stay. Plenty of things to do every day. This is a newly renovated KOA, and they added a lot of new sites. Also a new pool with a lazy River. We stayed at a premium site which provided a fire ring, a picnic table, and 3 chairs on the paved site. The landscaping is very well kept. There are some sites that have plenty of shade, but a good amount of them don’t. If you are a family with kids, this is definitely a KOA for you to check out. They provide you with a schedule outlining all of the events they will be having that week. There was a day where a few food trucks visited, including our favorite, a Rita’s food truck. They had live music most nights, which is always a hit or miss, but still fun. They have a dog park for your furry friends. One of the best parts of this KOA is the bus service that runs from the campground to Virginia Beach proper. It even takes you to the VA Beach Aquarium, which is our favorite. The bus allows you to bring all your beach gear and runs well into the evening. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at this KOA and would definitely return.

KOA Virginia Beach

It was nice not too packed and had overflow parking. They are upgrading their pool to add a lazy River, so it was not available. However the trolley takes you right to the beach in less than 15 minutes. Overall great experience, our daughters were able to come visit us and our grandkids stayed with us and had a blast with the bikes and water slide

Jets!!!

This place was a blast. We came for a week and got to do a Halloween weekend here. They had so much fun activities, a band, trunk or treating, fun games and a food truck! This koa even has a zip line on across the street!!

We enjoyed our time here, the jets flying overhead from the nearby base is an amazing added bonus!

Worthwhile Virginia Stop

Site appeared to be a bit older than other sites we stayed at, but very well kept! Definitely plenty to do and a short Uber distance to the World Famous Virginia Beach. We stayed at one of the front sites by the guard shack entrance and the only downside was the dust kicking up from the vehicles going by and no overhead coverage from trees on this site. Other than that staff was very attentive, friendly and always accessible!

Great place

Great location, very close to the beach. Staff was pleasant, and accomodations were nice. Some site are a bit close to a busy road, and you get road noise. But if you ask to be in the back of park, it is quiet. Paved roads and have premium sites that are paved, with concrete pads and beautiful furniture, along with cooking fire pit. Other pull thru sites are gravel and grass. Wifi was awesome. Best yet at campsite. Very clean. Would recommend this site

Not on beach

Look like it will be going to be super close to the beach if you look at it on Google maps. That's not really the fact though because even though it's rel atively get to the beach from where you're at.

This is a cute little contained area though they have bicycles and ebikes you can rent and you're able to ride your bike to the beach very easily it's just a pain in the tush when you have dogs and equipment

Wonderful campground

We camped in site 364, deluxe patio pull thru. Concrete pad and fire pit, along w Trex style table and chairs were the perfect addition to the site. We used them all weekend. So much nicer than the traditional wooden picnic tables. Trolley runs every 20 mins or so to free beach area and along Atlantic Ave. $4pp over 17yo. Giant water slide, 2 very clean pool areas w a lot of seating, jumping air pillow and bike rentals. Tons for kids to do. Tonight we made and launched rockets. Overall, an excellent visit. One complaint is that people don’t seem to teach their children campground etiquette. We had kids run thru our site all the time. That was annoying, esp during meal time. Overall, we highly recommended visiting this KOA!!

Think of a KOA with everything.

This place is huge and everything they have is big. Pool and plenty of on site activities. Zip lining is close by. Easy access to the troll to the beach is right on site. For as crowded as it was it really was not that loud. Great location to visit and enjoy the beach.

A good overall camp ground

We stayed at this campground in June 2021. The campground is clean and well maintained (although we did not use the bath houses at all). A nice site for families with plenty to do. They said there are even live music events, however there were none scheduled in June while we were there. The sites were pretty level and it was quite during our stay. The water stopped working once for a very short period of time (40 minutes) but was back on quickly. Within 5-10 minute drive to the boardwalk.

Pretty good

Pull through sites are level. Sites are a little closer than I’m used to but it’s not bad because of the way the sites are on an angle.

Great quick stop

We rolled in late at night and rolled out at first light. I will say this KOA was quiet and had a lot of campers. You can tell they were building up for tourist season. Renovation we’re getting completed such as bicycle rentals, pool cleaned and painted, club house remodeling. We thought is was a good place to stay, but can see how pack it would get during the hot season.

It was ok

It was ok, it looks like they were doing some upgrades to the area (adding sites) but a lot of it seemed dated. Staff were very nice but it was not for us. We will probably not be going back.

Clean park, great staff, lots to do!

Would have given it a 5, but the constant jet noise makes it hard to relax and bothers our dogs. I know... it’s the sound of freedom (my husband is a veteran Army Aviator). Otherwise a great place to visit with lots to do and just a short drive to Sandbridge or VA Beach boardwalk.

Ok experience

When we arrived at the campground we did not get the site that I thought I reserved. My daughter lives in Virginia Beach as was in the office when I reserved the site. I live in New Jersey. They said that I never locked the site down. Was never asked to lock it down. But they took the deposit from my account. They did give me a discount about the inconvenience. But I was still a little disappointed I did not get the site I thought I reserved. Though campground was very clean and quiet. Just make sure you say you want to lock your site in or you will not get it!

Rent bikes, go to the beach, ride the zip line... There is always something to do.

Enjoyed this campground so much we came back again!

We made this our main destination during our family vacation last year and enjoyed it so much that we came back again this year. They did not disappoint and we had an equally fantastic stay. Not much has changed since our stay last year which is fine as we really enjoyed the resort like amenities for our vacation destination. We spend a lot more time on the boardwalk of Virginia Beach this year enjoying the music and taking in the sights. My kids love the pools and activities provided by the campground as well. The campground does offer rental bikes but we brought our own this year and rode the quick 3 miles to the boardwalk during the day. This is not your normal campground and has a resort feel for a decent price. We will be back again but might put a couple years between to mix things up for our next trips. We spent 11 days on the road for this trip coming from Chicago. We spent 5 days here as our main stay.

Virginia Beach KOA.

Great place for campers and RV's. The pool was great and they have a curb market on the premises. A tram will take you into the city for some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. Sight seeing is nice to. If you are a aviation nut like me you are close to the Naval Air Station and they have shows every year. I will go back. Make a reservation and you should have a great stay. Our site was clean with power, water and cable. Plenty of room between RV's. The cabins are very nice as well.

Great family fun

The campgrounds and bathhouse are kept clean. Campsites are equipped with fire rings (of some sort) and accessible picnic tables. Park staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They offer seasonal/holiday family activities, host concerts and have many outdoor games to keep different ages involved. Lastly, the location is not too far from the beach and oceanfront activities. I've stayed here multiple times, and have never had a negative experience. I gave it 4 stars because it is a smaller scale camping venue, so amenities are great, but not over and beyond (which would be a 5 in my book).
