Natural Chimneys Regional Park

County-managed Natural Chimneys Regional Park provides full-hookup camping with electric, water, and sewer connections on forested sites near Mount Solon. Nightly rates range from $23 to $44, with reservations available for both RV and tent campers. The park accommodates large rigs up to 40 feet on spacious grass sites with shade coverage, though access roads can be rough.

The campground centers around distinctive limestone formations that give the park its name. A creek runs through the property, offering wading opportunities when water levels permit, though flow varies seasonally and sometimes runs underground. "The stream that varies from year - it runs underground some years," notes one returning camper. The park includes a swimming pool, playground, and hiking trails, plus the unique Jousting Hall of Fame on-site.

Cell service remains limited throughout the park. The flat terrain and open night skies provide good stargazing conditions away from light pollution. During summer, the Red Wing Roots Festival transforms the normally quiet setting into a music venue, drawing repeat visitors who appreciate both the festival atmosphere and the park's regular camping season.

Great for kids

I mostly come here for Red Wing Roots, but the pool and playground make it an excellent spot to travel with kiddos! Very little cell reception.

Passing thru

We were amazed by the formations in the park. Having a grass lot that was extremely spacious with shade doesn't happen very often with a 40'er. It was close enuf to hit the local national parks and Skyway but too far to run the whole thing in a day. I shall return for the extremely quiet setting if I'm in the area.

Beautiful park and amazing music!

I havery had the pleasure of camping at Natural Chimneys twice during the Red Wing Roots Festival. So my camping experience is a little different than how it would be when there isn't a festival taking place, but this place is great! Beautiful chimneys, a refreshing creek to wade in, hiking, biking, swimming in the pool and gorgeous views of the night sky are all activities you can partake in. This park is also home to the Jousting Hall of Fame so check that out!

Great

The camp host is excellent. Best price in the area for a comfy night. If you're lucky enough there might be some neat events nearby.
