Sunglow Campground is located in a scenic red rock box canyon just 2 miles from Bicknell, Utah. Visitors enjoy exploring local trails and day-tripping to Capitol Reef National Park.

Many miles of trails for hiking, biking and off-road vehicles are in the area. The Great Western Trail passes nearby. 

## Facilities

The campground contains two group sites that can accommodate up to 20 people each. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. A large parking area can accommodate trailers. The road to the campground is paved, but the road and parking spurs within are gravel.

## Natural Features

The canyon sits at an elevation of 7,200 feet. Cottonwoods and junipers provide very limited shade. Sagebrush and summer wildflowers dot the landscape.

The Ke Bullock Waterfowl Management Area is nearby, just south of Bicknell, with wildlife viewing and fishing opportunities.

Fremont River RV

Posey Lake Campground is located next to its beautiful namesake lake high on the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 8,800 feet. Visitors enjoy canoeing, fishing and exploring local trails. Natural Features: The campground is situated on a hillside above Posey Lake. A scenic forest of towering ponderosa pines covers the area. Clusters of aspens dot the landscape and summer wildflowers are abundant. Recreation: Posey Lake offers rainbow and brook trout fishing, canoeing, kayaking and non-motorized boating. Two hiking trails begin at the campground. The Posey Overlook Trail is a mile long and leads to a beautiful overlook. The Posey Spur Trail connects the campground to the Great Western Trail, which provides excellent hiking and mountain biking. Facilities: The campground contains 21 single-family sites and one group site for up to 35 people. Drinking water is provided from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Facilities at this campground include accessible vault toilets, a fish cleaning station and two fishing docks. Roads and parking spurs are gravel. Nearby Attractions: Posey Lake offers a cool escape from the surrounding desert landscape and is often used as a base to explore the surrounding region. The Escalante area of southern Utah offers breathtaking scenery nearly everywhere you look. Sightseeing along Forest Road 153 (Hells Backbone) and Utah Highway 12, a National All American Highway, is very popular. The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Anasazi State Park, and the Escalante Petrified Forest State Park are all located in the area. ACTIVITIES Boating: Canoeing Fishing Hiking

Posy Lake Campground

## Overview

Barker Recreation Area is located high on the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 9,300 feet. Visitors enjoy canoeing, fishing and exploring local trails. 

## Recreation

Upper Barker Reservoir provides canoeing, kayaking and fishing for rainbow and brook trout. Numerous hiking, biking and horse trails can be accessed from both the Upper and Lower Barker Reservoir trailheads. Trails, including the non-motorized Great Western Trail, lead to nine backcountry fishing lakes and beautiful mountain views. The area also has excellent stream fishing and spectacular fall colors. 

## Facilities

This recreation area contains 13 single-family sites, three group campsites and a day-use area. Horses are permitted in the Porter group site.   
  
Drinking water is provided from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Amenities include accessible vault toilets and bear-proof food storage lockers. Fishing docks are located at Upper and Lower Barker Reservoirs. Roads and parking spurs are gravel.

## Natural Features

A dense canopy of aspen and spruce trees forests Barker Recreation Area. Summer wildflowers are plentiful and a variety of wildlife frequents the area, including black bear, blue grouse, golden eagle, ducks and wild turkey. 

## Nearby Attractions

Both the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Escalante Petrified Forest State Park are located approximately 45 minutes away. Sightseeing along Utah Highway 12, a National Scenic Byway, is very popular. Travelers visit from every corner of the world to see the stunning red rock canyons and desert landscapes.   
  
Bryce Canyon National Park, Kodachrome Basin State Park and Anasazi State Park are also located in the area.

Dixie National Forest Barker Recreation Area

Otter Creek has an activity for almost everyone. The cold, clear water of this large reservoir offers year-round fishing for rainbow trout. For wildlife watchers, numerous waterfowl, raptors, deer, antelope, and elk abound. If you re an ATV rider, you ll want to try the Paiute ATV trail, which can be accessed from here. The primary activities are fishing and boating although it also serves as a regional staging site for extended and day trips into the surrounding National Forest, Utah State Lands and BLM managed lands by horse, foot, and vehicle. The Richfield Field Office manages day use facilities, dispersed and primitive camping facilities, and fishing access to the Reservoir at Fisherman's Beach, Tamarisk Point, and South Point along the west side of the reservoir. There is no potable water but picnic tables and pit toilets are available. Otter Creek Reservoir is located at the southeastern corner of Paiute County near the town of Antimony. A Utah State Park is located at the south end and provides well developed facilities, while the Richfield BLM maintains several semi-primitive sites along the west side of the lake and dispersed use is available on the east side of the reservoir. The main attraction is fishing and camping. The lands are sagebrush steppe. The Parker Mountains are located to the east, Monroe Mountain and Kingston canyon to the west of the lake, and the Sevier Plateau is to the southwest.

Utah is primarily known for two things: its world-class skiing and winding slot canyons. But the Beehive State has much more to offer the outdoor enthusiast. It's home to five national parks and eight national monuments. And that's just the beginning. There is no shortage of exotic camping in Utah.


For desert dwellers, Monument Valley never disappoints. It’s the kind of place that leaves a person searching for meaning. When the sun dips below the monuments and the sky radiates with color, it’s easy to see why the Navajo people revere the land. Media buffs will also recognize the familiar landmarks from film and TV. Those visiting Bears Ears can see Monument Valley in the distance from campsites like Muley Point.


Campers who visit Goblin Valley get a unique experience. An amphitheater of bizarrely-shaped hoodoos greets visitors. Even though there are hoodoos all over Utah, none compare to the “goblins” in this state park. They make an excellent backdrop for photos, adventure, games, and soul-searching.


A worthy Utah destination is Zion National Park, growing more popular by the year. The etched canyon walls make a lasting impression, as they jut thousands of feet up from the earth. The sense of perspective visitors experience keeps them coming back. The Watchman campground is a popular choice for campers. It offers accessibility to trails, the Virgin River, a shuttle bus, and the adjacent town. 


Many will also make a trip to nearby Bryce Canyon National Park, to see the infamous spires. Staying at the North campground is a great way to see the best parts of the park.


It doesn’t take a road trip to go camping in Utah. The state capital, Salt Lake City, butts up against the Wasatch Mountains. Fifteen minutes up one of the canyons is all it takes to trade city noise for alpine meadows and lakes. In the summer, Albion Basin blooms with color. Red Pine Lake is a secluded campsite with two lakes and frequent wildlife sightings.


For a different kind of mountain experience, the Uinta Mountains aren’t much farther. They’re the only mountain range in the contiguous US that runs east-west. Still part of the Rockies, they’re Utah’s highest range, with King’s Peak topping out at 13,528 feet. Most of the camping is dispersed, but Mirror Lake is a great campground right off the main scenic highway.


There’s something for everyone in the great state of Utah. From the desert climate to the fresh mountain air; unique experiences found only in the land of Zion. With nooks and crannies waiting to be explored, camping in Utah is, indeed, life elevated.

Venture RV Richfield

## Overview

LeBaron Campground is located in the Fishlake National Forest at an elevation of 9,900 feet. This beautiful high mountain retreat in Utah offers excellent fishing in LeBaron Lake and outstanding scenery.

## Recreation

Anglers will enjoy fishing for brook and rainbow trout in LeBaron Lake from the shore or small non-motorized boat. The LeBaron ATV Trail is just west of LeBaron Campground on Forest Road #147 and is a jumping off point to numerous loop trails and ATV Forest Roads, including the Piute ATV trail.

## Facilities

The campground has 11 single units and one group unit. All sites are back-in and will accommodate trailers from 12 to 45 feet long. Each campsite has a table and campfire ring. One vault toilet serves the campground. Drinking water is not available. There is a camping limit of 14 consecutive days.   
  
A designated ATV parking area is located to the west side of the campground to access available ATV trails.   
  
No hook-ups or dump station are available. The nearest dump station is located in Beaver, Utah. 

## Natural Features

The campground is surrounded by a mix of aspen and conifers. The trees provide a range of shade depending on campsite locations with a majority of the sites well-shaded.   
  
The Fishlake National Forest offers spectacular vistas and opportunities to view wildlife in their natural habitat. Elk, deer, black bear, moose, cougar and mountain goats are some of the large animals that call the forest home.
