Best RV Parks & Resorts near Moab, UT

Sun Outdoors Moab Downtown and Village Camp Moab offer full hookup RV sites within walking distance of restaurants and shops in downtown Moab. Most RV parks feature level gravel or concrete pads with water, sewer, and electric connections, accommodating rigs up to 40 feet. "We paid for a premier pull through full hook up's site and it was situated just above the dump station. We have a 40' Alliance Toy Hauler. I would recommend staying in sites #100 and up if you're in a large rig," noted one camper. Spanish Trails RV Park and Ok RV Park provide pull-through sites with full hookups, though several reviews mention extremely unlevel sites requiring leveling blocks, particularly for larger motorhomes with ground clearance concerns.

Reservations are essential during peak seasons (March through October), as RV parks fill quickly during holidays and special events like the Easter Jeep Safari. Most Moab-area RV parks remain open year-round, though services may be limited during winter months. Many parks provide amenities including WiFi, which varies in quality across locations but is generally strongest near office buildings. Pets are permitted at all reviewed RV parks, though dedicated pet areas vary in size and surface material. One visitor cautioned that the gravel in pet relief areas "gets very hot" during summer months. Propane refill services are available at select locations, including Sun Outdoors Moab Downtown, which also features an on-site Texaco station convenient for larger rigs.

    Moab Koa

    Phenomenal Staff-not so great site.

About 5 miles outside of downtown Moab. Very clean, amazing staff, dog friendly. I would give more star, however, we paid for a premier pull through full hook up’s site and it was situated just above the dump station. We have a 40’ Alliance Toy Hauler. We were not familiar with the campground. I would recommend staying in sites #100 and up if you’re in a large rig. Would definitely return knowing what we know now. Immaculately kept campground!

    Spanish Trails RV Park

    Spanish Trails

Spanish Trails Rv Park has a very Friendly staff, is clean, has a small pool, decent internet, and reliable electric. It is close to town and trails. The cites are extremely unlevel, but have a patch of grass are and a small tree at each site. We started at Horsethief State Park campground which was awesome, but an early heatwave of temps over a 100 sent us scurrying for plug in and the ability to run all 3 acs in our 43 foot toy hauler. We used the roll on blocks to level side to side without issue. The pull through are a little tight, so we will be backing out. The Class A’s have had to stop short of level due to slope and ground clearance, but we did not hear of any complaints, and everyone is friendly and happy. It is Moab, after all. The biggest improvement that the park could make would be some shade and a different surface in the pet relief area. The gravel gets very hot, and it’s not fun sweeping up the red dust from the Rv. At the state campground they have a lot of bushes that seed in tiny stickers (we call them beggars fleas in NM—not actual bugs but tiny stickers) that imbed themselves in animals passing by. The labs had no problems, but tough on long eared dogs with soft fur like our Cavapoos, so bring a hair brush.

    Good Place

Nice facilities. Grass for tent campers is nice. But the tent spots are small.

Clean facilities and friendly staff. Close to town. Strong cell signal and fast WiFi throughout.

Close to the highway (191) so be mindful of potential noise.

    Village Camp Moab

    Great Town and RV Stop

We loved Portal RV resort. Clean park with great amenities with adequate spacing. Full hook ups and great restrooms, showers and pool area. Just 5 minutes from Arches National Park and the center of town. Friendly staff and pretty quiet as we were there later in the season.

    We will be back!

    Moab Rim RV Campark

    Best spot in Moab!

6 stars for customer service! We came in late on Easter weekend during the Easter Jeep Safari Event. They were packed but found a place for us in the back. The host brought out a picnic table and fire ring for us, even offering a barbecue upon request. The Restrooms were Super clean and the hot water seemed endless in the shower. Guys get there early my hubby said the wait in the men’s room for anything was horrible, I did not have that experience on the Ladies side. The camping inside the inner circle seemed super nice with grass and shade, some sites even having shade structures. We were in the back lot (79) not on the map pictured. The CampPark also had several small cabins that looked adorable, and prices vary by season. Wi-Fi was available, the general store had a little bit of everything and it’s just down the street from downtown Moab! I would recommend this campground to everyone! Totally family and pet friendly and the perfect base camp for all your Moab adventures. Arches National Park is 4 miles from Moab and Canyonlands another 30+ Miles. If you have Children be sure to stop at the visitor center prior to your adventure and pick up a “Junior Ranger” packet and get your kids involved and enable them to earn their junior ranger badge for each National Park!

The Needles Campground — Canyonlands National Park

    Loved It

Beautiful campground in the Needles section of Canyonlands.

$20/night, and there is a 7 day stay limit within 30 days, and 14 days total per year.

There are two loops: loop A is first come first served, and loop B takes reservations during busy season (is FCFS in winter), but if there is a spot open it’s available for walk up (no reservations) for one night only.  The campground layout is nice and spread out, and the whole area is so quiet and peaceful.

There is drinking water here, trash and recycling (plastic and aluminum only), flush toilets (no showers).

No cell service in the whole park but our WeBoost gave us several bars of LTE, and there is wifi at the visitor center.

This campground is nice in that there are many hiking trails nearby.

There are 2 handicap spots, and 1 is available for anyone after 8pm for 1 night only.

Heads up that the driveway up into each camp site can be steep and/or have a dip so if you have a long vehicle you may scrape. I believe the length limit here is 25ft, we fit fine in our 26ft motorhome. Hosts on site were very nice and helpful.

Campground is free in winter after the water is shut off (approx mid to late November, usually, depending on weather).

    Ledge A Campground

Well laid out site near loads of off road tracks

Ledge A was closed for the season when we drove in around late January. From the road the sites look well maintained by BLM and public land use.  Tidy plots of gravel with picnic tables and fire rings, toilets and dumpsters. No cell signal with T-Mobile. Back down the road if you are coming from Moab near Hunter Canyon when the stream is running you might have to fjord the stream so beware of that.

    Sun Outdoors Moab Downtown

    Moab Urban Camping and Basecamping

In-town camping well done. Tight, but shaded and quaint camping on level gravel and sand pads and roads; larger RV sites have paved pads; many tent only sites have solid shade structures). Quick access to Arches and Canyonlands (north), Dead Horse Point SP, Sand Flats/Slickrock/Porcupine Rim, and local and in-town trails (Pipe Dream, Hidden Valley, Mill Creek Pathway).

Clean facilities, two bath houses, pool, store, and camping amenities (propane refill, vehicle fuel, lower shaded lawn for games and sports). Short walk to downtown, grocers, restaurants, and city parks. Multiple hook-up options, good WiFi for school and work before adventures.

The cons: management is accommodating for small campers and RVs on small sites, however parking gets pretty tight, and I wish extra vehicle and large vehicle parking rules/recommendations were better enforced.  Public dish-washing sinks need drain filters and a trash can to help "less meticulous" campers keep these public areas cleaner.

    Ballard RV Park

    Great place to stay

We stayed here five nights in our class C while slowly making our way across the country. The park is reasonably large. We had no problems getting a spot here. Sites are gravel, level and very well maintained. All are pull through. Hookups are in excellent condition. Sites had plenty of room, many had tables and some had fire pits.  Staff was very friendly and helpful.

There are not many ammenities in the park. The office can provide great information on the nearby national parks and other attractions. Showers and laundry are available for a fee, though we did not use them. Propane was available. The nearby gas station easily accommodates RV's.

Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are 35 minutes away. There are petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks nearby. Our grandchild loved the Moab Giants dinosaur exhibit. There is also easy access to hundreds of miles of off-road trails and hiking trails.

The RV park is conveniently located near the highway, but not too close. There is very little highway noise. The park was quiet and peaceful for the most part. There is a nearby rail line and you may wake to a train once or twice a night.

We had 4 bar LTE with Verizon. I was able to use my hotspot, and my wife played her Xbox game. The Wi-Fi available at the park was fine, though the game could not be played using it.

This was a very nice place to stay while traveling. It is an excellent place to stay to visit the area attractions while avoiding the high cost of RV parks closer to Moab. We will stay again when traveling this way.
