Very pleasant

Nice trees and shade. Good spacing. Most sites are level. Electric and water only. No sewage hookup, except for site #2. Sprint signal is weak but useable. Restroom/showers are clean. Friendly staff.

Very clean and quiet

This park is very clean and quiet. Loved the atmosphere and location. Was not fat stores when needed. Was not a busy location. Very calm and laid back. Loves it and will definitely be back!

Quiet little gem

If you’re looking to get out of the hustle and bustle this is a place you don’t want to miss. It’s quiet, very natural and rustic but with so many thoughtful touches. The community kitchen was my favorite part. Cooking is so easy when there’s everything you need available.

Pedernales

I suppose it would have been better if you get a decent campsite. Backing in the RV, door opened into a spiky bush. Turned the RV around and couldn’t level. The covered table was so far away in another campsites “backyard”. No Wifi or satellite for miles. Couldn’t use the phone for…

Hill Country Haven

Another Texas State park that shines! Sites are big and even though pretty close to the other sites still feels very secluded! Picnic table with shelter and Fire Pit with grilling included. Restroom and Showers close enough to every campsite! Firewood and Ice sold on site just pay attention to…

Okay but not great - especially since it’s been the highest priced campground we’ve stayed in.

We were graciously greeted by a neighbor who shared a few local favorites for biking , water access & historic gems. Shouldn’t the office make that available? We never saw or heard from a staff member for the three nights we stayed. We did speak with office staff to make the reservation who…

Braving August - 10th Anniversary Camping Trip

For us, August is the hottest, and least desirable month to go camping, and at Pedernales State Park it is their wettest month of the year: Hot and rainy, so why go camping? Because we’re Covid-bored, and our 10th Wedding Anniversary is in August, and we’re still amped about the purchase of our new…

First day sad day

My first time there. I witnessed a young boy being pulled out by another young boy for drowning. Didn’t want my kids to see what was happening so I left. Would definitely camp there though.

The park is nice , access to river to relax and cool off. 80 percent of the park is residents the only spots available for weekends is in direct sun. If you want a fire you need to rent a fire ring and buy the wood from them. The staff was not real friendly. There’re was only one young lady there…

Nice little getaway

Pace bend is a great little spot if you’re wanting to get out of the city for the weekend. Full of hiking, fishing, cliff jumping (at your own risk), and kayaking. They have reserved sites and first come first serve.

Beautiful, peaceful, close to Austin

This is a beautiful and huge camp ground with lots of nature to admire. The camp sites are spacious and feel very private, yet you don't feel alone with other campers nearby you. We had a stunning full hook up camp site with a climbable tree and took a hike to the waterfalls! There's lots of hiking…

Great biking!

This park is a great stop if you are on your way from Houston to Austin.  It's actually connected to Bastrop State Park by an 11 mile road that is mostly used for cycling.  And that's exactly what we did!  There was very little road traffic and the views were great!  There are also several scenic…

Great place to tent camp

Everything is in working order. Not every site works for hammock camping, as some lack trees the required distance apart.

Men's restroom was decently clean, shower worked well. If you want a spotless bathroom, hike over to the underused day use area.

At this point, you must have a reservation to…
