Waxmyrtle Campground is an ideal spot for its proximity to the beach, several hiking trails, and the non-motorized section of open dunes with the comforts of sleeping in a standard site with paved parking, drinking water and flush toilets. Located just 7 miles south of Florence, Waxmyrtle marks the start of the Waxmyrtle Trail, which borders the picturesque Siltcoos River Estuary. Wildlife viewing is a popular pastime for campers. Portions of the nearby estuary are protected nesting areas for the snowy plover, a small shorebird with a tan tail and snowy white underside. Recreation The Waxmyrtle Trail offers outstanding views of the lower river estuary and the Pacific Ocean as it winds its way along the river to the beach. Other nearby trails include the Lagoon Trail and Chief Tsiltcoos Trail. Nearby off-road vehicle trails and open dune riding areas provide hours of fun for off-road enthusiasts. Facilities Camping is available from May 1 to September 30 and amenities include drinking water, a campground host, flush toilets picnic tables, fire rings, recycling and trash collection. Carter Lake Campground is a family favorite in the Oregon Dunes Recreation Area. This campground is located on Carter Lake, perfect for fishing, swimming and boating. The Pacific coast is just a short drive away. Recreation Hike the Carter Dune Trail, which attracts campers and locals alike. Fishing for rainbow trout is a good way to pass the time, and canoeing and kayaking are excellent on Carter Lake. The dunes region is famous for off-road vehicle riding trails, too. Natural Features Campsites are nestled among shore pine, sitka spruce and Douglas fir, with hedges of rhododendron. Carter Lake spans 28 acres at an altitude of 100 feet. Carter Lake

Bay Point Landing is on the picturesque Oregon coast and offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. It is situated on a quiet bay, making it an ideal location for swimming, kayaking and other water activities. The campground itself features a heated pool, hot tub, playground and a game room. Visitors can also take part in organized activities such as yoga classes, wine tastings and guided hikes.
The area surrounding the campground is also home to several hiking trails, wildlife viewing opportunities and world-class fishing. Bay Point Landing also offers modern amenities such as full hookups, Wi-Fi and cable TV. The campground also features a modern bathhouse with private showers, laundry facilities and a well-stocked camp store.

One of a kind beautiful dry campsite. Secluded in the coastal forest next to the ocean. This site is completely private on acreage. There is only one other site within miles. Pull your trailer in right off hwy101 for easy access. The site is less than a 1/4 mile from hwy 101 and 1/4 mile from beach access but feels like you’re in your own private coastal forest wonderland. Surrounded by sitka spruce forest and creeks you are in a private forest setting with the sound of ocean waves and brook waters. Site comes with a picnic table. Easily fits a 30ft trailer. Must have your own toilet. No water or electricity. Nearest rv water and dump station is Washburn campground 1 mile down the road.

Thousand Trails South Jetty

Eel Creek Campground sits among coastal shrubbery on the edge of the sandy dunes of Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Eel Creek attracts campers who plan to do more than off-road vehicle riding during their visit to the dunes. Hikers and birders are attracted to the peaceful atmosphere of the campground. The most popular trail here is the John Dellenback Dunes Trail, which guides hikers through the scenic dunes to the Pacific beach. The section of dunes in the Umpqua Dune Area features spectacular heights, and the area is one of the easiest locations for pedestrian beach access. Recreation The John Dellenback Dunes Trail takes hikers on a 2.7-mile (one way) trek from a conifer forest across the open dunes to the beach on the Pacific Ocean. To private vistas of fresh water lakes like Threemile Lake. The trail finishes at a beach on the Pacific. This hike makes for an incredible workout, due to tall dunes and soft sand. Quality wildlife watching is also a feature of the campground. Facilities The campground is divided into a North and South Loop. Amenities include flush toilets, drinking water and a self pay station. A campground host is on hand and an amphitheater sits between the two loops. This campground has 51 sites, 38 are reservable and the rest are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Natural Features Most sites are secluded and private due to dense shrubbery like rhododendrons and Salal. Sites 7, 8, 42 and 43 are perched on the sand of the dunes. The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, in the southern end of Siuslaw National Forest, is known for its wind-sculpted sand dunes towering up to 500 feet above sea level. Nearby Attractions Visit Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, along Lake Marie. The Umpqua River Lighthouse stands on the site where the first lighthouse on the Oregon Coast was built in 1857. Eel Creek Campground

Within easy access of Highway 101, Tahkenitch offers two traditional campgrounds, two boat launches and two trailheads are directly adjacent to Highway 101 and Tahkenitch Lake. The lake provides opportunities for bass fishing. Tahkenitch Creek and Tahkenitch Dune trail provide opportunities to hike through the coastal forest, as well as access to the dunes and beach. ACTIVITIES Biking Boating Camping: Several developed campgrounds with restrooms, picnic tables and fire rings exist in this area. Fishing Hiking: Tahkenitch Creek trail provides a little bit of everything the Dunes has to offer; forest, sand dunes, rivers and possible loop opportunites. Tahkenitch Dunes trail crosses a forested ridgeline and enters an expanse of large dunes before hitting the beach. The two trails can be connected for a longer hiking experience. Along the beach the trail passes by nesting areas for the threatened shorebird, the snowy plover. Follow posted regulations and call ahead to find out about restrictions. Off Highway Vehicle: The Tahkenitch Area is closed to OHV use with the exception of the Clam Bed OHV Trail which provides local access for clamming. Tahkenitch Campground

We found our forever home about 2 years ago and, after a crazy rollercoaster ride of purchasing, we finally got to move onto the property a year and a half ago.

Like most new farmsteaders we hit our fair share of bumps in the road and learned a few lessons along the way. But all in all we are getting the place to where we want it to be and making our dreams come true.

Although we are not quite there, we are starting to open up a few spots to have guests stay here and help us enjoy it with us along our journey!

Come camp with us in the Oregon Coast Mountain Range! We are located right on Highway 126, exactly halfway between the city of Eugene and the city of Florence at the Oregon Pacific coast.

The space

We have 2 tipi tents set up at the front of our property that can accommodate groups up to 8 people each. We also provide a composting toilet in its own small tent and access to fresh water. And if you get hungry we are just a short walk down the driveway to the Halfway Café!

Guest access

We love showing off our property and are more than happy to take you on a tour when you arrive! You are welcome to sit by the camp fire at night located up above our sun shaped garden or even hike the trails in our woods. Make sure you say hi to the turkey, chickens and baby ducks on your way past.

Stoney Acres Farmstead

At an elevation of 100 feet, Lagoon campground sits among shorepine and huckleberry perched beside a lagoon with access to the popular mile-long Lagoon Trail, is about 7 miles south of Florence. Amenities include flush toilets, drinking water from a pressurized system, picnic tables and fire rings with grills. Parking aprons are paved. A dump station is located less than 4 miles away at Honeyman State Park.

Fishing and hiking are popular, and a beach on Oregon's Pacific Coast is within reach. The Lagoon Trail is an accessible loop trail that provides wetland wildlife viewing on boardwalks. The Waxmyrtle Trail is a 1.3-mile interpretive trail that offers outstanding views of the lower river estuary and the Pacific Ocean as it winds its way along the river to the beach. The Stagecoach Trail Head is 1/4 mile west from the campground and the Chief Tsiltcoos Trail is also nearby. Anglers can find rainbow trout in the lagoon in winter and spring. In Siltcoos Lake, bass, steelhead, cutthroat trout, yellow perch and bluegill may take the bait. Wildlife is abundant in the campground and along the Lagoon trail, attracting many photographers. Native inhabitants include beavers, nutrias, ducks, herons, and bitterns - a waterfowl relative of the heron.

Recreation Off-road vehicle riding is the ultimate attraction here and the Driftwood II OHV Trail is a great place to start. For added variety, beach goers can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and watching sea birds at the nearby beach. If in season, whales may be spotted in the ocean as well. Facilities The layout of the campground is a large parking lot with designated camping sites. Most sites come with a picnic table and campfire pit, but RV pull-through sites 49-58 do not have these amenities. Natural Features The campground sits in the heart of Oregon's coastal dunes, a short distance from the beaches of the Pacific Coast. The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, known for its wind-sculpted dunes reaching up to 500 feet above sea level, spans the coast for 47 miles. ## Overview

Tyee Campground, located 6 miles south of Florence, is part of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. The small campground sits on the northern banks of the Siltcoos River near the Siltcoos Lake outlet. Many campers bring kayaks for paddling up and down the river. 

This is a great campground for kids to play and anglers to try their luck from the riverbank.

## Recreation

Hikers can enjoy expansive nearby beaches and explore dune formations above the Siltcoos River. Meanwhile, anglers have a chance to catch coho salmon and bird watchers can view a variety of shorebirds and waterfowl.

## Facilities

Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, and a boat ramp. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring with a grill attached. Parking aprons are paved and a dump station is within 4 miles at Honeyman State Park. The campground has 14 sites, all of which are available by reservation only. 

## Natural Features

A few sites are secluded by coastal shrubbery and other sites are located in an open meadow alongside the water. The Siltcoos River flows west past the campground, starting its journey at the 3,164-acre Siltcoos Lake and emptying into the Pacific Ocean. The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area boasts the largest coastal dunes system in North America. Roosevelt elk, panfish, and bald eagles are just some of the wildlife that live in this area.

Campsites that are not occupied after 24 hours of arrival time will be considered as a "no show" and sites will be released for others to reserve. If campers will be arriving after 24 hours of their arrival time, they are encouraged to call the ranger station at 541-271-6000 to let staff know.
