Tidepool walks, surf sessions at Ecola State Park, and crabbing runs down the coast are all within reach from Cannon Beach RV Resort, a tree-lined property tucked into the hillside just east of Highway 101. A sidewalk underpass connects the campground to town without requiring campers to cross 101, and the beach near Haystack Rock is about a ten-minute walk from the sites. The elevation above town means ocean sounds carry clearly at night, with multiple reviewers noting they could hear waves from their rigs. In winter, the local elk herd has been spotted moving through the area around the campground entrance.
Sites are paved, with surrounding grass and tall conifers providing partial shade through portions of the day. Full hookups include electric, water, and sewer, and the resort accepts rigs up to 60 feet. The layout runs tight on the inner loops, where sites are close enough that neighbors are audible on all sides. As Misty Z. notes, "you can hear too much because they are fairly close." Outer loop sites give more breathing room, and reserving one of those in advance is worth the effort, especially in summer when the park runs consistently full.
Amenities include an indoor pool and hot tub, laundry, free showers, a small convenience store, propane, and gas pumps on site. WiFi is functional for remote work during off-peak hours but can slow noticeably in the evenings when the park is at capacity. AT&T users report limited reception, with only one bar at some sites. Firewood is available for purchase at the resort.
The campground sits near Wright's for Camping and Sea Breeze Court, giving campers a few options in the immediate area, though all three carry similar price points. Jennifer G. describes this one as "cleaner and nicer" than the other two nearby. Ecola State Park, accessible via the same road as the campground, has viewpoints, hiking trails, and a surf beach worth a half-day visit. No tents are permitted at Cannon Beach RV Resort, so this is strictly an RV and hard-sided trailer destination. Book outer loop sites well ahead for summer weekends.
