Great little campground

Roughing it in nature

Great place for friends and family to meet. Much nicer with a higher water level.

Sand and wind

Be careful!!! Almost got stuck in the sand while trying to find a spot level enough to park. Many people had dug out around their trailer to get the slides out. Several people used construction generators to power their rigs. Stayed for a weekend. Had a hard time leaving the trailer due to sand in the wind flying at high rates of speed. No hook ups, they do have a dump station and community water faucets. Vault toilets in many locations, no designated camping spaces. Just find a spot where you fit.

Overnight stop only - not a campground

Walmart in Reno doesn't allow overnight stops and the Cabela's was doing parking lot renovations and we needed a quick overnight place to sleep. I called the casino first to make sure they were ok with us staying the night and they said as long as we stayed furthest west in the parking lot. 2 other RVs stayed there and it was a quiet night. Call first to gain their permission!

Convenient and Clean

We stayed here for one night on our way south from Likely CA.  Our space was very clean as was the rest of the RV park.  Nice laundry room.  Full Hookups.  Nice helpful staff.  The casino was next door however due to the pandemic, we do not go in those or restaurants at this time.  Only 18 minutes into Reno going south on Hwy 395.

Does the job...

Sites are basic, which is fine by me. Sites are spread out and you have privacy from your neighbors. Sites have a picnic bench and a fire pit. There are Porta potties.

Today 9/14/2020 extremely smoky air from surrounding fires. Pesky annoying swarming bugs in the evening.

3 bars for ATT 3G 2 bars for Verizon 3G

We had a hard time finding entrance

You must go through the main entrance to the Fort Churchill historical site to enter this campground. DO NOT drive down the gravel road that runs along the river. There is no camping at the historical site, only in Samuel Buckland Campground. It’s very nicely laid out, with some pull through and back in spots. No hook ups, vault toilets. $5 firewood at the Fort Churchill entrance, but no burning allowed at this time. We were nicely surprised to have water spigots at the sites (not hook ups). First come first served $15 per night and very quiet at night for a good sleep. Verizon cell service was not good.

Great for a single night stop

We only stayed for a single night, but have no complaints. The staff were really friendly for bookings and check in. The park was nice and well maintained. We would definitely stay again if we are passing through Reno.

THIS is a nice RV PARK but not Disperse camping!

I am looking for Disperse camping; (Boon-docking) (DRY Camping) (no hook-ups)
RV parks and camp grounds are showing up. This APP needs help and people need to know what they are saying is Dispersed camping vs RV PARKS.

I did not stay here so I can not grade it, but is does look nice for a PAID RV PARK!

Great place!

We enjoyed our short stay here. We were able to do laundry. The bathrooms were very clean. The WiFi was okay. The grounds are very nice and the staff are too! Very happy campers
