Gap Mountain

Bureau of Land Management's Gap Mountain campground sits within the Basin & Range National Monument area, offering dispersed camping across well-maintained dirt roads. One reviewer notes the extensive exploration opportunities and emphasizes careful route planning, as GPS directions through mountainous terrain can prove impassable for two-wheel-drive vehicles. Access from Highway 318 requires passing Gap Mountain before turning left, while southbound travelers can use Seaman Wash Road for a scenic dirt road approach. The area provides informational maps at the Seaman Wash entrance detailing local attractions and points of interest. This spot works well for campers comfortable with dispersed camping who want multiple areas to explore within campsites near BLM Land — Bristlecone Field Office.

Another beautiful area of Nevada!

So many areas to explore, the scenery is flat-out ridiculous. The dirt roads are very well maintained, this is a dream area for those of you that like dispersed camping. Be careful how you enter this area Google tried to direct me right through the mountains and it was impossible with the two wheel drive truck. Off of 318 make sure you pass Gap Mountain and enter is a left, if you're coming in from the south you can take seaman wash Road if you up for beautiful drive even though its a dirt road. The area is basically Basin & Range National Monument. Tons of things to explore, on the Seaman wash road entrance there are really cool maps that will show you how many things there are to see.
