Lake Sch-Nepp-A-Ho Family Campground

We are located approximately 90 miles northwest of Grand Rapids, and 40 miles northeast of Ludington. We are nestled into the heart of Michigan's Manistee National Forest, where there are limitless opportunities for all types of outdoor recreation activities.

We welcome you to our quiet, family atmosphere park, where a clean, well kept park and a friendly atmosphere are our promise to you. The 6 1/2 acre park has 250 feet of waterfront on Seaman Lake, where park patrons can swim, boat, or fish in the spring fed lake.

Spend the day relaxing in front of your campfire in one of our spacious, grassy campsites; enjoy the enchanting quiet of Seaman Lake at our beachfront; relax by our swimming pool; or spend the day exploring with your ORV on the nearby trail system. Challenge the waters of the Pine River by canoe, or find a private trout fishing hole on the Little Manistee River. Whatever you do, the choice is yours... it is your Leisure Time!

There is a network of ORV trails available for the trail riding enthusiast that connects to a statewide system of trails. We offer 2017 Trail Maps in the camp store - pick yours up today.

The Pine River and Pere Marquette River are both very popular canoeing rivers, there are numerous canoe liveries available in the area.

Both the Pine and the Pere Marquette rivers boast excellent spring and fall salmon runs. People come from all over to fish these runs. Area lakes, including Seaman Lake where the campground is, have some of the best fishing available in the state.Seaman Lake even claims two (yes two!) state record largemouth bass. People fish the area lakes for bass, pike, bluegill, and perch. The Little Manistee River is a popular fishery for the trout fisherman, and Lake Michigan has countless charter boats that can take you on a deep sea type of fishing expedition.

Pine Meadows

The Manton Trails RV Park& Campground has 146 sites, nestled on 80 acres and a campground surrounded by State land and close to the State’s Snowmobile/ORV Trail Head of the Manistee National Forest. Our bathhouse is clean, and our showers are hot. We are located 15 minutes north of Cadillac and 30 minutes SE of Traverse City. Manton Trails welcomes families, couples, and groups looking to relax, reconnect with family, and enjoy all the wonders of nature. The property also has event facilities that can be rented for group meetings, weddings, and activities. There are many canoe liveries near Manton Trails which provide an excellent nautical Manistee River experience for your family. If some of your party would prefer to stay within four walls rather than camping, they can reserve a room at the Manton Hotel located on the property.

Bear Cave RV Campground

Ewing Point is located on the beautiful, 132-acre McKeever Lake in the forests of Michigan. This spacious campground provides a rustic environment in a secluded setting. Bruno's Run Hiking Trail weaves throughout the Ewing Point area, offering 9 miles of adventure for hikers. The trail is accessible at various locations, two of which are near the Ewing Point parking area. One section of the trail leads to Grassy Lake, while the other heads along the southeastern portion of McKeever Lake. McKeever Lake offers great fishing for musky, pike, bass and pan fish, and there is boat access in the parking area. Boats must be carried to the site by hand or through the water. Because the water is quite shallow, large boats are not recommended. The campsite is equipped with tables and a campfire ring with a grill. A lantern post and pit toilet are also available. There is one walk-in campsite on Ewing Point. The site, located right on the point, is a grassy area 50 feet by 75 feet, surrounded by cedar and hemlock. A fire grill, lantern post, and picnic tables are provided at the site. Drinking water must be carried in. Water is available at Pete's Lake.

## Overview

Monument Campground was established in 1909 as one of the first campgrounds built in the Huron National Forest. The campground is a fully accessible camping area within a red pine plantation.   
  
Families love this conveniently located campsite, just 15 minutes from Lake Huron off the River Road National Scenic Byway.

## Recreation

Campers can access the Highbanks Hiking Trail from the campground or explore the 22-mile River Road National Scenic Byway that overlooks the lovely AuSable River valley.   
  
Beside the campground is the Lumberman's Monument Visitor Center, replete with information about the area's rich lumbering history. Here, visitors can climb through a log jam, use a peavey, cut a wooden cookie with a cross-cut saw, and learn about the life of a lumberjack through video and displays.

## Facilities

Pressurized drinking water, vault toilets, trash collection and grills are among the amenities offered at the campground. A host is onsite to answer questions.   
  
  
In the nearby visitor center, campers can partake in educational programs and browse through the gift shop.

## Natural Features

Each site is secluded and shaded with large oak and red pine near the AuSable River. The river flows from west to east for 138 miles until it reaches the great lake, Lake Huron.

Monument Campground

Nestled among mature pines, this tipi feels like it's at the end of civilization Within 40 miles of Traverse city, Cadillac or Grayling, and closer to smaller towns, you have plenty of acces to all the fun things. Situated in the center of the north country, there are lakes and trails in every direction, waiting for you to come and explore. This is a totally rustic site, so you will need to be familiar with digging a cathole, at this time there is no toilet facilities. This is camping.
