We purchased a seasonal site with a boat slip and it was very affordable from May through October. The WiFi is nice and the scenery being close to Lake Huron is enjoyable, especially in the morning sunrise hour. The hookups work good and the owners are very nice. There's occasional parties and…

The drive in sites near the whirlpool are my favorite sites in the Lower Penninsula. Quiet and very private. They only have a fire ring, no picnic tables or bathrooms. Large, wide open sites overlooking the Ausable River. We can at site 101 every year and will continue to do so for a long…
Spacious, pit toilets, no dump. The lake looks nice, but the campground is very buggy. So many mosquitos it is hard to sit outside. Many ORV trails, but they are also very loud.
The absolute BEST campsite I have ever camped at in Michigan! The perfect morning and evening view of the river. Directly across from the best fishing spot and shoreline to soak up the summer sun. Kayaking only to get there was SUCH a fun experience! Highly recommend this gem of a spot.
Great campground to stop in for the night. We paid 25 for a camp spot plus 9 for a passport to put in our window. The beach is right across from the campground but the water is extremely polluted so we didn’t swim but the sand is really nice and clean so we did catch some sun rays. They have…
Not very secluded + close to the road. Clean and well kept, and friendly DNR staff. Easy access to the lake, and not far from restaurants and gas stations-hence the road, lol. If you’re after middle-of-nowhere peace and quiet, keep looking. But if clean, comfortable and easy access to town/supplies…
Great campground with great campground hosts. Large sites some with water views. Beach area. Clean pit toilets and water. Campground hosts had wood available when we were there.
One of my and my husband's favorite campgrounds. Not far from home. Water sites or wooded sites. Good size sites.
Higgins lake is beautiful
My husband and I stayed here for what should have been the whole weekend. We ended up cutting our trip short.
The campground itself seemed quite nice. Large, clean vault toilets. A water pump. No electric. Some of the sites seem more isolated than others. The sites were nice and big. The…
Nice and clean. I’m in the inner loop though and the sites are very close together. If I came back I would definitely try to stay out the outer loop. Electric, fire pit, and picnic table on site. No grate. Showers and bathrooms available.
Higgins Lake is home for me! Now that I have moved away, my high school friends and I reconnect at this campground. We are all from the area and had the pleasure of growing up right next to this beautiful lake! It is Crystal clear and walk out for a long ways before it drops off. The campground is…

Nice rustic campground located just north of west branch. No showers, privy is is decent shape. Not the worst not the best. Several lake front sites to choose from with excellent views. There is a public boat launch here. There is an ORV trailhead here as well so the majority of the campers here…

The site we stayed at had an amazing view and was right on the water.
