Aune Osborn campground

We had a great stay at Aune Osborn. Beautiful quiet place. Friendly staff, pet friendly and freighter watching.

Classic family fun.

My family has been coming to Cheboygan/Onaway

MI for as long as I can remember. This campsite is always clean, comfortable and fun. It is perfect for a getaway right on the water in a beautiful park. Especially in the fall this park is beautiful!! I will always come back to this park. I hold it…

Terrible camping experience

I just saw a review from another camper who experienced the same as me; generators everywhere, no peace and quiet, no rangers to tell people to turn down their music, no one to police the crazy orv drivers who treated the 10 mph roads as race tracks.  Do not go here if you're looking for a nice…

Rustic but worth it

We stumbled on this campground when Ocqueoc's first come first serve sites were full. This campground is also first come first serve but way more sites. The lower site is where we stayed and literally had a waterfront site. The upper has HUGE SITES and is shaded better, but cant see the water.…

Beautiful rustic campground

The campground itself was gorgeous, well maintained and spacious. (Tent) Camping there was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I pick rustic campgrounds for a reason. This one was full of RVs & 5th wheels all running on generators. There is no peace here. If you’re looking for quiet- it’s…

Stayed here during Labor Day weekend & the sites are huge! You don’t have to worry about your neighbors getting too close! Along with that, when we went there were little-to-no mosquitos! That’s enough to make a camping trip the best one yet. Plenty of access to the water as well! They also…

Great Family get away

We visited her to enjoy the lock's. But the family found it was so much more enjoyable to be able to just step outside the camper and see the boat's go by every chance. Sites on the river are very nice with a great view.

Head to the top!

There are two sides to this campground and although the lower side has lake front sites, they are pretty small. We opted to head over to the upper part where the sites are three times the size. We were only one of two campsites taken, so it was extremely peaceful and quiet. The sky was gorgeous. In…

Great place to relax

We found this site by accident looking to visit the locks. There isnt a lot to do in the park but watch the freighters but thats why we wanted to go. Minutes to town and the locks, tours and more. I will be back for a waterfront spot.

Great Campground to watch the freighters.

This is a great campground if you want to watch the freighters. I gave it only 4 stars because there is only 30 amp hookups available and there aren’t many trees for shade. But the close access to watch the freighters makes up for those short comings. Also make sure to visit West Pier Hamburger.…

this beautiful campground has 2 parts, the upper which is geared to people with quads and dirt bikes, large sites close to trails, lower is right on lake, very nice water is great for swimming, shallow way out and nice and sandy. this is strictly a rustic campground with outhouses and one water…

Great Location

This location can’t be beat: close to town and great freighter watching. The bathhouse is one of the nicest I’ve ever seen at a campground. The sites are very small and close together. There is no privacy whatsoever and I really felt like the other campers looked down at us for having a tent. They…

Great Place to Watch Freighters

Nice municipal campground on the east side of town. Hardly any shade and sites are close together, but the Great Lakes Freighters on their way too and from the nearby Soo Locks is the attraction.

The sites are level. All include a picnic table, fire ring, electricity, and water. There is a dump…

Very nice sites on Lower Campgrounds right on the Black Lake shore

This campground has an Upper and a Lower. I stayed at the lower which has campsites right next to Black Lake. The sites were great and the grounds had all amenities. The view is wonderful and being right on the edge of the lake is really serene. It was $15 dollars a night which is a little high for…

Close to Soo Locks

This park pretty much lacks any character as it is an open area with a bunch of scattered campsites but it makes up for that with its location. Most people come to the town of Sault Ste. Marie (called the “Soo”) to check out the famous Soo Locks and watch massive Great Lakes freighters pass through…
