    Beautiful campground in an amazing location!

    Platte River Campground is a wonderful place to camp if you enjoy nature, beautiful scenery, and outdoor activities. The wooded campsites provide a peaceful atmosphere, and the campground is well maintained.

    The bathrooms and showers are a big plus, and having access to the Platte River and Lake Michigan makes this location even better. There are plenty of opportunities for kayaking, fishing, hiking, swimming, and exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes.

    The campground is a great home base for exploring northern Michigan. The natural beauty of the area is hard to beat.

    A few things to keep in mind: mosquitoes can be bad during warmer months, and reservations are important because campsites fill up quickly. Some sites also offer more privacy than others.

    Overall, this is a beautiful campground with excellent access to some of Michigan's best outdoor attractions. Definitely worth visiting, and a place I'd recommend to anyone looking for a northern Michigan camping getaway!

    Fanny Hooe Resort & Campground

    Idk if we hit the most busy weekend, but the campground was so over crowded, people all over the place, our site was almost smaller then our car... and someone got hit crossing the bridge next to our site. Showers were flooded. It happened to be a very rough weekend to camp there.

    4 stars due to the fact that the showers were closed as of October 20th and the CG closes on November 1st. None of this noted on the website before i checked in on the 29th. I was looking fwd to a shower after several nights of truck camping in the UP.

    Site 110, Small, mostly sand, some grass, not level near the electrical outlets. The site is right next to a site with electrical panels and pumps for sewer, across the road from the showers.

    Maybe good for a 21' camper and a truck. Very open, no privacy on the inside of the loops and the outer sites seem a bit larger.

    20/30 amp power looked great, newer water spigots throughout the CG and the dump/fill station was new with two pull throughs.

    Tmobile was 1 bar 5G thru RC Communications, very spotty even for texting. No pets on the beach, the sand is very fine and Lake Huron was a turquoise blue. Check in was easy online. 

    Some newer toys on the playground for kids and a few miles of hiking trails and the paved bike trail.

    Level sandy and grass site close to pit toilet and water spigot. Empty campground, dirt roads, no electricity. The Pathway and NCt run through the campground if you like to hike.

    Tmobile was 2 bars LTE, great site for large and samll campers or SxS's. Right down the road from Blind Sucker 2 and Lake Superior SF Campground.

    Picnic Table and concrete fire pit, some sites are side by side and very open.

    Large sandy with some grass and mostly level site. Easily fit a 30' camper and truck or trailer w SxS. 50' from Lake Superior, picnic table with concrete fire pit, partly shaded.

    Tmobile had 3 bars LTE, No electric, water spigot was next to register station. Very clean pit toilets. $20 per night plus Rec pass.  Site 9 is open right next to 10, would make a good group site.

    Plenty of rocks on the sandy beach if you like to rock hound.
