Rustic spot on a peaceful lake

We pulled into the cabin area by accident. The road in was beautiful. It has a parking area and then the cabins are spaced out. We fixed our error and headed to the campground.

The campground is along the lake. You can choose a spot lakeside or more wooded. Some sites are reservable and others…

Small and empty but everyone showed up for the artesian well

The campsites are not the best we’ve seen. There are plenty of tall trees and yet the sites had plenty of sun. This wasn’t what we were looking for on this warm July weekend. In fact the campground was entirely empty so maybe others agree (There is another campground just down the road that we…

Popular spot but trees are limited

This campground seems pretty popular. Campers had their a/c on in their smaller RVs on this warm July weekend. There is a large playground next to a small beach. Many people used the boat launch to go out on the water.

While you can find a site separate from others or even one in the shade, it…

Beautiful National Forest - But Bring Everything You Need

We stayed here for 3 nights because that was all the water we could carry. There is no dump station there and only hand pumped water.  They do provide a list of dump stations and water when you arrive, but all are at least 1/2 hour away.  Come with water.

We were in site 3 that was a ten foot…

Country village rv park

Awesome park. Playground which they are expanding. Large sites as it is a big rig park. Very clean bathrooms. They are adding a large game area and they have a swimming pool and hot tub.

One of our favorites!

Lots of trees and foliage so sites are at least semi-private - nearby lake for fishing and swimming and hiking trails too! Clean and modern shower facility which is greatly appreciated… a campground we keep coming back to.

Van Riper State Park

We stayed at Van Riper State Park three times during June and July. The park is always clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms and showers and generally always nicely maintained as well, and there are plenty of both. The bathrooms do tend to run out of soap and toilet paper at busy times. Dogs are…

Great Family Atmosphere

We enjoyed the amenities and activities this campground had to offer. Clean bathrooms and laundry room. Great activities for kids…fishing presentation, movie, kickball. The site was full sun which got hot. There were shaded sites, but we couldn’t get sites together in the woods to be close to…

Sprawling campground with many site options

This place has a variety of options. We loved the rustic sites that were furthest from the sign-in building. You feel “out in the wilderness” but close enough to town. The sites are spread apart nicely with plenty of privacy. The loop extends a bit because of this. Vault toilets and water are…

Fancy rustic campground in the wilderness

This campground is in a wilderness area so there are regulations if you choose dispersed camping. The are 4 campground loops and many campsites out around the lakes. We chose a spot in loop 3.

Our site is large with plenty of space for our teardrop and screen room. Water is right next to us. This…

Cute dispersed area

This is such a cute little camp site. I arrived about 830 local time and there were still open spots. According the website it's fcfs. The camps are well maintained and there are hiking trails and a river just around the bend though the trail is closed right now as of 6.27.21. All in all great…
