3 Day Disaster

Campsites trashed. Campground trashed. Dump station overflowed and closed. Toilets broken, plugged or poop all over toilets and floor. People parking 4-30' campers in one site, on the grass. One person left in the evening, got stuck and had 1' deep ruts. Had to leave to get another truck. It didn't…

Almost like home

The couple that run this campground are awesome! They made me feel like I grew up there and was back to visit old friends. The Memorial Day celebration pig roast with live music and even a huge fireworks display were amazing. I'm planning on returning for the 4th of July celebration pig roast. …

Small campground, good location, very crowded on weekends

This is one of two campgrounds at Natural Bridges State Resort Park in the Red River Gorge Area of Kentucky.   I visited on the weekend in mid-April and this place was very full.  It is small, so, this meant being very close to other campers.  It is in a great location, near many trails in the…

Gorgeous views and friendly staff

So we were a little skeptical after not enjoying the sister site to this campground (Middle Fork Campground, see my review) but were pleasantly surprised. Although the privacy issue was still an issue (I'm sorry, but when I am camping I don't really want to know any other humans exist) because the…

Amazing area

We stayed at one of the walk in sites and loved it. We felt like we had the forest to ourselves. Beautiful area with amazing hiking. The

Amazing home base camping!

The campsites are great and spaced out nice! Most sites have small pea gravel and are very clean. Bath house is open but no showers are at of March. Three great trails that you can do right from the campgrounds. Miles more within a few minutes drive

Beautiful Setting

I camp here annually with my cousin. It’s a great campground if you don’t mind being in a more crowded setting. Aka less remote! Opt for the campgrounds towards the back for a little more privacy and immediate access to the nearby creek. Granted walking to the restroom is a little further. Fills up…

Family oriented campground

If you want a place for your kids to play and ride bikes, this is it. Campsites are a little close in some areas but when you are here, you are family!

One of my favorite Ky state campgrounds. Plenty of space between campsites. Just wish they had sewer hookups...

Pipes froze over, no running water

Camped for a few days in late March for a climbing trip (no fires at Miguels). It snowed the pipes froze over so none of the facilities were working. I'm sure it's super nice in the summer.

nice and primitive

This was a nice, quiet and primitive campground. The sites were nice and spread out. The bathrooms were clean. I would definitely return to hike some of the trails.

Beautiful campground near natural bridge Kentucky, October 2020

Our plans were tentative so we had not made reservations in advance. We felt lucky to grab a site. The camp manager was very helpful. It was quite and clean. Women’s showers were fine, but my husband said the men’s were not so great. We hiked to the arch a mile away and while it was muddy, it was…

Hanson’s Point

Hanson’s point at the red river gorge is often called the best view of the Gorge. To get to Hanson’s point you’ll have to earn it by hiking for about 2.5 miles, but trust me when I say it’s worth it. The campsites at Hanson’s Point are primitive campsites, so make sure you bring EVERYTHING you need…
