Green forest on Pine Mountain, this campground is well laid out and has history. Several projects done by the CCC. 40 miles of trails to hike/bike. A CCC built pond where you can rent paddle boats or bring your own kayak or canoe. Equestrian trail rides (and stable rentals) are available. …
We go often and enjoy camping at FDR. The kids love going also.
Beautiful campsites with lots of space between sites. Water and electric, with nice level sites. The lake was nice for kayaking...paddle boats, canoes, row boats and kayaks available to rent.

Here for two days anf it's beautiful. Kayaked in the lake, saw turtles, a northern water snake and lots of squirrels and birds. Kids fished, but they only caught a turtle which was unhooked and returned to the lake...hopefully a little wiser.
Love this campground. Our site, #102 , was level, but kinda short for our 40ft camper. Clean bathhouses, friendly staff! Our site overlooked the lake, nice breeze. Trails are nice, long walks through the woods.
We wanted to try to get in other sites, had to plan almost a year out. This park…
We had camp site 19 and the views we amazing of the lake. Waking up opening the blinds to see the lake and ducks swimming around we’re just what we were looking for. It’s a bit of a hill to the lake but worth it. The showers were private and very clean, but the dump station DOES NOT empty your…
Beautiful campground. Sparking bathrooms and friendly staff. The ladies at the reservation office are fantastic. The lake is beautiful and the grounds are well maintained. FDR is a great home base for exploring the area.

We were on site 213 and 214. Beautiful wooded site lots of space between sites in this loop. Very short walk to lake. Loop 1 sites are lake front and lake view but more close together than we like. Sites pretty level and gravel. Concrete picnic table, fire ring and light pole with lots of room fir…

Spacious RV/tent sites and cabins surround lake. Clean and well maintained, beautiful trails.
This campground offers it all. Set in F.D. Roosevelt State Park you are surrounded by forest, lakes, streams, rock formations and campsites are quiet and private. We stayed in site #114 directly on the lake. The state reconfigured some of the sites along the lake and site #114 is no longer on a…
Really clean. Plenty of bath houses. A number of sites directly on the lake are tent only, or very very small pull behinds. Lots of hiking but its not marked out very well. Especially if GPS brings you in the back entrance. The center to check in is about 1.5 miles from there and no signs clearly…
Great State Park only 1.5 hours from Atlanta. We stayed in site 502 which was a good pull through spot. We noticed that most of the sites are not super private- it would be great if there were some low shrubbery in between sites (lots of very nice mature trees but not much down low to provide…

We stayed in a pull thru site #109 on the lake. It was a nice site but everyone was kinda close and there wasn’t much privacy at all. Plus side it had 30 and 50 amp hookup along with electric and sewage. The park was well kept and the park ranger was super nice as we locked ourselves out on our…

Only downside is that you have to be military, or be with someone who is military, to get in. There’s a range of cabin styles to choose from. My girlfriend loved the chateau. It’s not camping. It’s a vacation house in the woods. Absolutely beautiful. The grounds are nice, but there are alligators.
