We can't wait to come back!

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The campsites are spaced out enough to provide privacy, outdoor living area, and parking. Their are walking trails and a nature preserve that are well kept.

If you have an RV and want sewer hookups, they have a limited number of sites available, so plan accordingly.

All reservations are done online they don't book reservations over the phone.

Simple, pleasant

Variety of sites; primitive, partial hookup, and full hookup.

Laundry consist of a couple of machines. Bathrooms could use some updating, and more consistent cleaning schedule.

Trails are short but pleasant views. Access to boat ramp and lock & dam which is a very popular fishing area.

Trade post runs all during normal business hours. Light snacks, and tackle for fishing.

Views of Coosa river and the mountains in distant is nice. Nights are peaceful here. Weekends are busy with weekenders and fishermen. Two playgrounds one at main park, one next to campsites.

Nice campground near Rome GA

Primitive campground was right by Coosa River.Very ROOMY sites w/good amount of fallen wood right by campsites…There is a bathroom in primitive area…It cost $12-13 a night for a primitive site.

There is a Nature preserve adjacent to primitive sites: a meadow & then woods…I don't fish but there is a dam next to park headquarters w/ some folks fishing

This campground doesn't have any 'elevation' or bluffs anywhere but it is nice & well kempt (and priced nice IMO). Off the beaten path about 8-10 miles from downtown Rome which is on the confluence of 3 rivers, including the Coosa River…Rome has kayak,Sup rentals & is a very outdoor/nature conscious little city!
