About

State Park

Welcome to Dames Ferry Campground! Nestled near the charming town of Juliette, GA, this spot is a gem for anyone looking to unwind by the water. The campground sits right on the shores of Lake Juliette, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. Most of the sites are waterfront, so you can wake up to the sight of the lake every morning.

One of the standout features here is the easy access to the lake. You can launch your kayak or small fishing boat directly from many of the campsites. The lake is calm in the mornings, perfect for a serene paddle or some early fishing. If you're into bass fishing, you're in luck—Lake Juliette is known for it. And don't worry about staying connected; cell signal is strong for both Verizon and AT&T, so you can stream your favorite shows or keep in touch with folks back home.

The campground is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friends along. There are also clean restrooms and spacious shower facilities, making your stay comfortable. For families, there's a cute playground and a covered pavilion, perfect for picnics or just letting the kids burn off some energy.

If you're planning to stay a while, you'll appreciate the electric hookups and drinking water available at most sites. There's also a sanitary dump station for RVs. While there aren't any sewer hookups, the dump station is convenient and easy to use.

The camp hosts, Paul and Sue, are known for being friendly and informative, always ready to share tips about the area. Whether you're here for a night or a week, Dames Ferry Campground offers a relaxing retreat with plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. So pack your gear, bring your boat, and get ready to enjoy some of the best sunsets Georgia has to offer.

Great Lake front sites

Nice small campground. Very well maintained. Site18 was great for us and boat and 2 dogs. Most sites were large with plenty of space. Water and electricity but no sewer. Have dump station. Nice areas between site and lake. Cell signal was good for Verizon and AT&T was good to stream video. Bathrooms very clean and lots of shower room. They do have a playground as well. The boat ramp was easy to get to for our small fishing boat. Launched my kayak right from the site. Great sunsets. The 3,600 acre Lake Juliette was nice. It was calm most mornings but usually a little windy in afternoon. The GP power plant is close by. There is some road noise at some sites since it is just off the road. Would not like a few of the sites due to that. Maybe not so bad in summer with leaves on the trees. Paul and Sue were very nice camp hosts and informative about the area. Had a great time. Looking forward to coming back in warmer weather and the fish are biting. Gave 4 stars due to road noise only. May not bother most people.

Great small campground.

This is a great small campground. We stayed here one night as a half way point. Site #9. I loved our site. Great view of water. This camp is right on lake. Most sites are waterfront. Site #9 had no shade but it was spring time so not bad. The wind was pretty strong coming off the lake that we didn't put out our awning or get to have a fire. many pull through sites, bathhouse was clean. Well kept camp. Lake was busy with kayakers and boaters. There is a day use area with boat ramp. Not much around area but could spend a few days here on water or fishing.

Relax and Kick back

Beautiful park, close to the road, but private enough to relax. Drop your kayak in from a waterfront site an enjoy Lake Juliette, popular for Bass fishing. Or set your hammocks up and enjoy the breeze and view of the trees. We paid for a premium site and had more area than others, totally worth it. If you have a buddy, it has a site next to it that you can enjoy time with. The only downfall is there isn't much more than a lake and campground. You can drive to High Falls (and you should) for a wonderful hike.

A Gem

I’m relatively new to camping life. But I know what I like. Quiet. Room to breathe. Nice view. Water or mountains...preferably both. Inexpensive or free.

Lake views but...

Beautiful views, but many of the sites on the far loop are full sun. We stayed at site 26. The view was beautiful, the sun was pretty rough until it went down, that spot is particularly sunny. The road noice in the far loop is horrible, all night long!! I didn’t realize it was so close to the road! There are 18 wheelers for the nearby rock plant that run at all hours and they are loud!! Also there’s a train, not a once in a while train with horns, like all night long coming and going. This park has a magnificent lake and if you stay there stay close to the front of the park. I think this would have been a better option with the noise. If you and your kids are light sleepers, this might not be the location for you. The bathroom is also very far away from the far loop.

Excellent lake side camping

With under 30 RV spots with 30/50amp, and water hookups. This State Park Campground was awesome. 90% of the spots are right on the beautiful crystal clear lake. We launched our kayaks and swam from our sight so easy and convenient. Quite, relaxing and secluded the lake is situated with in the forest with no homes near or around the water we visited in the summer and can’t wait to go back in the fall when the leaves start to change. Clean and well maintained.
