ScoutWe were looking forward to staying here, but when we arrived the gate was locked and we did not have the code. We called the phone number at the gate, but nobody answered so we were left scrambling for somewhere else to stay at 9pm.
I'm sure it is a lovely park, but I didn't see anything on their website or here about the gate being locked.
GuideThis was our first time at Ho Hum, and we weren’t sure what to expect. We’ve stayed at places with higher and lower end amenities. Ho Hum was at the middle-lower end of amenities, but everything they had was very nice. Pulling into the park, you could assume that it was aged and might not be a great place, and the many RV’s can look a bit haphazard. But once we were hear for a few days, you could see that people have created some great spaces for themselves. Several multi-family camping situations, and it was great to hear the children running around and playing.
We reserved a waterfront site for our Class Super-C. The site was nice and well cared for; freshly raked, no trash. Only suggestion I would give the owners is to enforce that all waterfront lots of forward pull-in only. We had two neighbors that backed in, with us being frontward facing; therefore, our two outside areas ended up being right next to each other with little privacy.
The waterfront was really nice. On some days, you could see fish jumping and we saw schools of dolphins moving fairly close to shore and along the horizon. On a different day, we saw a shark trolling the shore about 50 feet out.
The central area was always well groomed and freshly raked, and the staff were super nice. The restrooms, although a bit rustic and aged were always clean and welcoming.
We stayed over Easter weekend, and the staff did a small Easter egg hunt with prizes, candy and pastries.
This park is located about 4.5 miles away from Carrabelle, and you can get most of the groceries you need and some select dining. There was also a great fish market at Millinder’s. We got some red fish, snapper and shrimp there…delicious.
This was a really nice, relaxing place. The roads, during weekdays, weren’t terribly -bike/e-bike friendly, but on the weekend, I was able to ride up Morality Road toward the prison, turned right and came back through the forest road, which was easily passable on an e-bike with 2” tires.

GuideSpacious shady sites that offer good privacy are readily available here! Some low hanging overhead branches may cause an issue for larger rigs but I had no problem at 12 feet high. Rustic camping with very clean vault toilets, bear-secure trash bins,water spigots scattered throughout the campground and a dump station with non-portable and portable water right there. A meandering and scenic 30 mile drive off of I 75 definitely takes you off the beaten trail, though there is a bit of road noise that can be heard but not seen from the campground.
ScoutWe stayed Friday to Sunday and the property is quaint and clean and so so quiet ! Bathroom facilities are clean and spacious . The laundry facility was clean. 2 washers and 4 or 5 dryers . Change machine provided in laundry room. The pool was clean ! And it’s pet friendly. Kelly was amazing , we didn’t need for her anything but getting us reserved was hassle free!! We loved it there ! Wonderful pull through site ! We will definitely be back :)
GuideChecked in yesterday and pulled up to a full park. Check in was easy at the front gate . Site 1 is tight for our 29' Class A and it took some blocking to get level. Right rear corner of the lot sits high but not terrible. We took a walk down a trail behind the campground to the springs parking lot and took the campground path back. I will update more as the week goes on. Walked down to the spring and shared videos. No manatees today but I am sure we will see some before the weeks end.

GuideWe booked a small travel trailer air bnb here for the week. We had a private dock on the canal. If we had kayaks or a boat you have direct access to the state park nearby and the Atlantic from either your dock or the marina. Bath house were clean. Quiet at night. The campground is a mix of full time residents, snowbirds, renters in campers, RVs and a few tents. There is a heated pool, laundry, lots of games and two small sandy beaches. Easy stay while exploring the keys.
