    Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park Campground

    Nice rustic state park

    The campsites are rustic in nature featuring sandy/gravel sites with lots of trees and good separation from your neighbor. It is a little tight for big-rigs because of the trees and narrow roads in the park but doable if you take your time. It is located between Niceville and Bluewater Bay where you will find everything you need nearby (restaurant, grocery, fuel, etc.). The campground is small and was very quiet. Mostly adults when we visited but they do have a playground and Junior Ranger activities for kids. Campsites have water and electricity, a picnic table and a fire ring, and some have water views. The campground is close to a military base which explodes ordinances at random times, so if you have a dog that does not do well with loud sudden noises, do not stay here. Our dog is terrified of sounds like that and, luckily, there was only one really busy day when they were exploding bombs. We enjoyed the hiking trails and water views. The individual trails are short (the longest one is a mile) but there are multiple ones so you can get a three-mile walk in. There is a boat launch (for trailerable boats and kayaks) which we definitely would have used had we been there longer.  We would definitely stay here again as we like the quiet solitude in the park but convenience to stores, restaurants, etc.

    Champions Run RV Resort

    This place is fantastic!

    I would highly recommend Champions Run. Sites are wide, clean and beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area is spacious, clean and beautiful. Drinks at the tiki bar were delicious.

    Encore Sunshine Holiday

    Has everything/ near everything

    Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Two pools kept very clean. They pick up your trash at your site daily. Have packages/mail sent/pick up in office. Sites are close together with neighbor's rv 3ft from yours and hookups are on the wrong side. I had no problem setting up(routed water & sewer hose around the back of my rv and the electric i passed under it using one of my crutches to pull the cord from under the rv! I absolutely will return!

    Find Out Farms

    Beautiful and peaceful

    It's very peaceful. Chickens roam free and we were able to see cows and get farm fresh eggs. 50 AMP and water connections, I saw reviews about the road being bumpy but we didn't have that experience. Everything was smooth. 10/10.

    Flamingo Campground — Everglades National Park

    A must see but bring bug spray!

    We had a fantastic time at Flamingo in Everglades National Park! The scenery is beautiful, the wildlife viewing is incredible, and there’s always a chance to spot alligators, birds, manatees, and other amazing creatures. The marina area is well-maintained, and the peaceful views across Florida Bay are unforgettable.

    One thing to be prepared for: the mosquitoes can be intense, especially around sunrise and sunset. Bring plenty of bug spray and apply it often. With good insect repellent, the mosquitoes are manageable and definitely not a reason to miss this unique experience.

    Overall, Flamingo is a must-visit destination for nature lovers. The wildlife, sunsets, and natural beauty make it well worth the trip!

    Nature Resort Campground

    Expensive Old RV Resort.

    Old RV park where most of the people seem to live there. They initially charged me $200 for 2 nights (a Thursday and Friday). They had me by the dumpsters so the smell was pretty strong depending on the breeze. Tried to get a different site but was denied on the options I chose but atleast it was only 2 nights.

    Old Florida Wilderness Meets Family Adventure

    There is something special about arriving at Savannas Recreation Area, where the landscape opens up into wide marsh views and you immediately feel like you have stepped into a quieter, more natural side of Florida, with a well-laid-out campground offering both RV and tent sites, mostly level ground and a VERY relaxed, open setting surrounded by water and native vegetation. The campground is thoughtfully equipped with clean restrooms, hot showers, laundry, picnic tables, fire rings and even WiFi, making it comfortable without taking away from the outdoorsy feel, and while shade can be limited and wildlife is very much part of the experience, the area felt safe, peaceful at night and incredibly engaging for kids who love nature. One evening, after a simple dinner at our site, we walked down toward the water and let the boys spot birds and fish while keeping a careful eye out for the occasional alligator, turning it into one of those wide-eyed, whisper-quiet moments that only happen in places like this. I would absolutely recommend this Old Florida campground for families looking for a true outdoor experience thanks to its abundant wildlife, affordable and well-equipped sites, and the kind of natural setting that turns an ordinary night into an adventure.

    Lake Manatee State Park Campground

    Campground Stay

    The bathrooms are rather hot at any time of the day, but they are clean. One of the showers doesn’t work but there is no sign posted. 30 sites for 1 bathroom/ bathhouse so showering at night may take longer than usual. The campground isn’t too shady, but the Day Use Rec Area is nice and has a small play ground. However, if you’re looking to cool off in the lake, think again. It’s very warm water and there is a caution sign about green blue algae being possibly present in the waters. Lots of squirrels and ants
